On a good day I can deadlift 150 kg  (330 lbs) for 5 reps with good form, sometimes that's 4, sometimes 6.

But the question was how much can Jesus deadlift?
Lets keep our difference views on religion on the religious form, please and thank you. What do you mean good form?

Not too bad form, I can see you adding another 50 - 60 lb.

Yeah, I've seen worse form!  And that is my goal...500 or close to it should be realistic as a short term goal.

4 plates each side no straps is the best I can do... and damn it's tough.

Here are my lifts, 7 plates x 1,    6 plates x 5,    5 plates x 10, 4 plates x 20. I wear a belt and use straps. For some reason I always start from the rack, guess I never got used to starting from the ground

Everyone here deadlifts at least 7 plates a side minimum!! :)

As a warm up for about 20-30 reps.

serious answer - No I couldn't deadlift 7 45lbs plates per side.

I've done 540 for 4 or 5 with belts and straps. Look forward to doing 7 plates sometime in the distant future (2 - 3 years) :P

I can do 405 for a couple of reps (2-3), my grip is very weak and I won't wear a strap..

to be honest I don't think that I have the form right..I think that I am bending my knees too much. I look at that Coleman clip and his form is interesting, barely a knee bend..also I make it a point to never curve my back

the fucking trainers at my gym are totally useless asking them would be pointless...and no one at my gym does them with any serious weight so there is no one ask questions of.

The back is the biggest muscle group in the (upper) body and you need to use straps to properly exhaust it mate - you need to move a lot of poundage to stimulate growth and thickness and you shouldn't be worrying about your grip or your forearms.

You should just train forearms separately. When it comes to back day, you need to use straps and if needed, a belt. And forget things like pulldowns and seated cable rows - they are good for getting some blood in there, but to get a lot of mass and thickness, you need to deadlift, bent-over row and Tbar row heavy weights.

As for doing deadlifts - to be honest I think that a lot of the trainers have it wrong. They can tell you what the correct form is if you are doing 1 plate a side, but when you're lifting upwards of 400 or 500 lbs, you are going to be rounding your back a little. By the time you get to that level, you'll know if you're doing something wrong (although not always, of course).

If you have thick spinal erectors, you can round your back a bit and it's not going to kill you. Of course, I'm not saying just use whatever form without worrying, but just that don't be afraid to let your body assume whatever stance it does when it's moving a lot of weight - it's an inbuilt mechanism that you'll know only if you've lifted heavy and not some fancy thing you read about in Mens Fitness

never gone higher then 405 4-6 reps...don't think i ever want to

Ya thats my max for the moment.

Funny thing is I wear a belt for everything at the gym, back day, chest, shoulder, etc, but on deadlift/hamstring day i dont wear it.

Last time I deadlifted seriously was in prep for a push/pull meet years ago.  Got a very hard 635 in the comp.  But I'm nowhere near that now.  Every now and then I'll pull a couple singles for 500-550 just for "maintenance".  I'm more into power cleans these days.  My clean PR is 345 but my form is pretty shitty and nothing like what you see in real Oly lifters. :P

Most I've deadlifted is 515 x 3 at 195 lbs with a belt and chalk I don't use straps never have.  I haven't done that in just over 2 years I stopped doing deadlifts because I got a shitload of stretchmarks all across my biceps.  Everytime I went past 400 pound deads my stretchmarks got thicker, longer and red looking and a few additional ones.

Does anybody else have this problem?

I have done 700 x 1 raw (no belt, no straps), and 727 in a suit @ about 220-225. Hoping to pull 771 (350kg) very soon in a suit. Conventional.

The best I've ever managed was using straps (but no belt), and that was 405 lbs for 10 consecutive reps without ever resting the plates on the ground.

I've done five plates in a Smith Machine... but any heavier than that and you're into the range where naturals simply don't carry sufficient muscle to go much heavier.

at the moment i am doing 300 pounds for 3-4 reps. and it feels like im giving birth when i do it, feels heavy.

I am curious, is a belt really needed? i dont use one. just wraps.
