pellius can you post some more of your jujitsu stories sometime i really enjoy reading them
But you know how jealous NaturalWonder gets.
In regard to Jiu-Jitsu. I was just lucky. Right place at the right time. I was living in Torrance, CA at the time and Rorion and Rickson's house was just a few blocks away. They opened their first academy in Carson, CA which was about two miles from where we all lived. I just wished I took more pictures at the time. None of us, well maybe Rorion, knew how big everything would become.
This is from the late 1980s early 1990s in front of Rorion's house in Torrance. The one in Renzo's arms in the front is Ralek Gracie, Rorion's youngest son. He just defeated Sakuraba a few weeks ago. Also, the one on the far left front row is Carlos Machado. He's one of the Gracie cousins. That's the one Chuck Norris took to Texas when he got that Texas Ranger show. He loved Jiu-Jitsu so much that he wanted to keep training but there were no schools at that time. He set Carlos up with an academy in Texas. Texas now has some of the best Jiu-Jitsu fighters in the world.
Of course the one wearing the "Hawaii 88: shirt is Rickson, the family champion. I got to take one on one private lessons once a week with him for around two years. Everything they say about him is true. Just on a whole different level when it comes to pure Jiu-Jitsu.
