because (1) he is originally from morocco (2) there are more arab countries than bahrain

 

bahrain and qatar import mainly north african and kenyan runners. they hardly have any own athletes.

Yup, the amount of medals won by a few nations with people from other nations is staggering - Johnson is just one tiny example.

lots of athletes have changed nationalities for sure, but what qatar and bahrain do is on another level. hopefully stricter rules will be enforced soon.
