I just received a pretty interesting job offer to relocate to Kansas City, Missouri. Knowing that getbiggers are usually the most well-traveled people in the world, what opinions does anyone have on KC? Good place to live or not?

I live in St. Louis and have been been to KC quite a few times. I was not impressed. Shitty sports teams and a lame town. If you are the stay at home type then it would be fine.

I live in Omaha NE, and visit KC a lot. It can be a cool town depending on what you like as far as arts and events go. The problem with the whole midwest is you are 8 hours from anything interesting outside the city i.e. beach, mountains...a hill.

I am from Saint Louis as well.
Kansas City can be a great town if you know where to go.

What type of arts and events do they have that you enjoy. I saw a spot called power & light that looked pretty cool, it seemed to be a quite happening place during the summer at least.

Kansas City is a great town......You can go to Chiefs games.....Royals games.....excellent barbeque rib joints as well......awesome jazz clubs......Oceans of Fun.....Worlds of Fun.

Population is close to a million people.....pretty easy to get around town.....traffic isn't too bad at all.

There are very wealthy parts of Kansas City......but very shady sections of town also.

Overall a very good town. Fairly affordable.

a bunch of higher end peeps live in kansas city ks and commute to the city. westport is fun, waldo is fun, power and light can get a little expensive... but the tail is good. food is unmatched, unless you like seafood. gyms are rough... lots of them, but not for good lifting. Gold's is your best bet.

check out jc nicholls plaza area. and ku med center is a top ten nationwide hospital.

stay away from the hood and it's pretty low crime. look into living in johnson county, kansas and commuting if you can... but it's an ok place.
