Jay didn't have the greatest physique in the world, which is what a Mr. O was supposed to be. He had the greatest ad-selling face, and he still does, which is why he hasn't just faded away.
He has money, investments, property, endorsements (still) and plenty more where that all came from. He has his own supplement line that is still being sold... and it appears he still has his health, which is a lot more than most contenders can say.
Top that off... he's not a dumbass. He is a businessman.
Do I like him? Hell no. I can't stand listening to him talk. Does that mean that he's a failure? Lol ~

Heard that too, 2002 to 2003... He was upset because Schlierkamp beat him at GNC, and people were saying that he was washed up and he shouldn't have won the Olympia... Of course he talked about being angry and hungry, killing the weights in the gym, but didn't talk about the insane drugs-peptides protocol he implemented to change from looking like shit and flat at the '02 Olympia to monster in '03... :D

Having tried a few other battles on that, I don't think it is a good indication on worldwide recognition/popularity. It just says which has more google search results. An NFL player is bound to have that over a bodybuilder.
My point is that more people around the world would identify Jay Cutler the bodybuilder than Jay Cutler the NFL star from a photograph or by name dropping.

Some guys act like they are elite specimens after they win a local show held in a high school auditorium.

Here is Ronnie, the real #1 bodybuilder of all time. Jay is standing right next to him. Both have their arms hanging straight down. I don't think Jay's arms look small... Even though they are next to the best arms ever (Ronnie).

The ego is something that makes sense during an athletes playing days...When their done playing, most realize modesty is the best approach. But not all can hide their mental illness when the fat lady sings though. Which seems to be the case with Mr. Cutler...
