I got fooled on Steyer as well. Truth is the determining factor on how long a low polling candidate can continue is how much $$ they have.

Van Jones: 'People are depressed' by primary process, just want 'somebody to vote for against Trump'
The Hill ^ | 02/12/20 08:56 AM EST | BY JOE CONCHA
Posted on 2/12/2020, 11:19:47 AM by Hojczyk

CNN analyst Van Jones on Tuesday said he thinks that Democratic voters "are depressed" and "sad" over the Democratic primary process, saying that it is a "messy, confusing choice" and Democrats "just want somebody to vote for against Trump."

“I think people are depressed,” Jones said while discussing the large split of Democratic votes. “I think people are sad. I think people can't figure out which of the people they're supposed to vote for, and people are waiting to come out and vote against Trump.”

"This is a messy, confusing choice," the former Obama adviser continued. "People are sad and depressed, and people just want somebody to vote for against Trump."

Jones also called Sanders "a phenomenon" but noted the media talks "about everybody but Bernie" for "whatever reason."

"Bernie Sanders is a phenomenon," he said. "He doesn't get attention. People don't talk about him."

"He's doing stuff we don't talk about, he appeals to young people, people of color, he's got an army of donors," Jones continued. "If anybody else had all that we'd say this guy is our guy. But for whatever reason we talk about everybody but Bernie."

The Nevada caucuses will be held on Feb. 22, with the next Democratic debate in Las Vegas happening on Feb. 19.

We all knew these attacks were coming if Sanders began to gain traction.

Culinary Union says Bernie Sanders would end its health care

(CNN)The influential Culinary Union distributed a flier that says Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders would "End Culinary Healthcare" if elected president of the United States.

The flier, obtained by CNN on Tuesday, outlines where the leading 2020 Democratic candidates stand on health care, immigration and "Good Jobs." It singles out Sanders as the candidate who will end the union's health care among the top six Democratic candidates, pointing to his "Medicare for All" plan.

The release of the flier by the union, which is a force in Nevada politics, comes just a week and a half away from the Nevada caucuses. The organization says it represents 60,000 hotel and casino workers in Nevada and provides health insurance coverage for more than 130,000 people. Its organizing abilities have helped deliver the state for Democrats for years. The union has not endorsed a candidate in the 2020 election.

"German Healthcare: Private Insurance
If your salary is above €59,400 a year, you have the option to access private health insurance in Germany. In addition, civil servants or the self-employed in Germany can also choose private health insurance. About 11% of Germans opt for private health insurance."

"Private health insurance: In 2015, an estimated 10.5 percent of the U.K. population had private voluntary health insurance, with 3.94 million policies held at the beginning of 2015."
private health insurance available to english citizens in England?

"Canadians can purchase supplemental private coverage for services that are not covered by the public plan, but cannot purchase private insurance for basic services. As CBC News points out, private health insurance is “a crucial part of the system,” and Canadians spent about $43.2 billion on private coverage in 2005."

"It is estimated that approximately 65% of all residents are covered by some form of private health insurance in Canada. This ensures that they are able to seek alternative treatment routes in the event that the waiting periods are too long, and ensures that they will have coverage outside of the country in the event that they need it."

James Carville embraces Sanders' 'political hack' label: 'At least I'm not a communist'

Democratic strategist James Carville has said that he agrees with Sen. Bernie Sanders' assessment of him as a "political hack," adding that he'd rather be a hack than a "communist" like the senator from Vermont.

Carville's comments were the latest salvo in a feud that began over the weekend when he attacked Sanders' policies and said he was "scared to death" of his success in Iowa's Democratic caucuses. Sanders, I-Vt., responded by telling CNN: "Look, James, in all due respect, is a political hack who said very terrible things when he was working for Clinton against Barack Obama."

Vanity Fair contributor Peter Hamby tweeted Thursday that he had spoken on the phone with Carville, who told him: "Last night on CNN, Bernie called me a  political hack. That's exactly who the f--k I am! I am a political hack!

"I am not an ideologue," Carville reportedly added. "I am not a purist. He thinks it's a pejorative. I kinda like it! At least I'm not a communist!"

In an interview with Vox published last week, Carville unleashed a scathing critique of his party.

"We just had an election in 2018. We did great. We talked about everything we needed to talk about and we won. And now it’s like we’re losing our damn minds. Someone’s got to step their game up here."

Carville added that he considered himself a "liberal" rather than a centrist -- but Democrats had gone too far to the left even for him.

"They’ve tacked off the damn radar screen," he said, before taking another shot at Sanders for saying that he wanted to expand voting rights for people like convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Sanders, Carville suggested, would be ineffective as president and wasn't representative of the Democratic Party.

Somehow I get the feeling pre-Obama dems are figuring out how radicalized kissing the asses of a few fringe nuts has made their party.

When Carville seems moderate, you have a problem.

Bernie has a free shit army that cares not about monikers or history. They want the free shit they've been promised for going to vote here and there and run their mouths on social media. Useful idiots.

Bloomberg Throws Money at Meme Accounts as Past Racist Policies Resurface

Bloomberg is paying popular influencers to run campaign memes as he faces criticism over his record on stop-and-frisk and his comments on redlining

The seemingly endless flow of money that billionaire Michael Bloomberg is dedicating to his Democratic presidential run has now crossed over into meme culture.

Accounts with huge followings on social media started posting staged direct message conversations with the former New York City mayor Wednesday night, tagging them as real sponsored ads paid for by the candidate. @KaleSalad, which has 3.5 million followers, and @FuckJerry, with 14.9 million followers, are among some of the massive accounts being paid by Bloomberg’s campaign. In the captions, both accounts wrote “and yes this is really #sponsored by @mikebloomberg.”

Bloomberg’s newest tactic of using comedians, influencers, and meme accounts comes at the same time as his tenure as mayor is being scrutinized. An audio recording from 2015 of the candidate was recently resurfaced, in which he defends stop and frisk and racial profiling techniques used by cops.

Bloomberg claimed he inherited the NYPD’s policy of harassing minorities from his predecessor, Rudy Giuliani, but data provided by the New York Civil Liberties Union shows that the number of stops actually increased during his tenure as mayor by “more than seven-fold.”

Another clip resurfaced this week of Bloomberg suggesting the end of redlining caused the 2008 financial crisis. Redlining is the discriminatory practice wherein banks deny mortgages and loans to low-income and minority communities. In response, Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted, “I'm surprised that someone running for the Democratic nomination thinks the economy would be better off if we just let banks be more overtly racist. We need to confront the shameful legacy of discrimination, not lie about it like Mike Bloomberg has done.” She also posted a video to explain redlining.

The Fat Jewish, another popular (and controversial) meme personality, weighed in as a native New Yorker, saying, “From the subjugation of minorities through stop and frisk policies to his hardline anti-marijuana stance, dude is a total hoe.” He rejected Bloomberg’s request to post an ad on his meme account(s).

Is his entire campaign one of the clearest examples of an attempt to buy an election that we have ever seen?  And it's not going to work.  He's a terrible candidate.  Aside from the fact his policy positions suck, he has zero charisma.  Trump will kill him on the debate stage.

And I have to say, as much as I don't like the nicknames, "Mini Mike" is pretty darn funny.

I don't even watch that much television but it seems like every time I look up there is another one of his ads running.

I've read estimates of up to 2 billion that he is willing to shell out for this campaign.

Mike Bloomberg reportedly considering Hillary Clinton as running mate

Presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg is reportedly considering Hillary Clinton as his running mate, a prospect that evoked laughter from pundits Saturday who called it a terrible idea.

“Choosing Hillary would be the worst possible choice Bloomberg could make,” said Republican strategist Mike Dennehy. “Picking a two-time loser who represents the past will ensure his defeat in the primary.”

Jason Schechter, communications director for the former New York City mayor’s presidential campaign, said in a statement to the Herald, “We are focused on the primary and the debate, not VP speculation.”

But speculation that Bloomberg would tap the former secretary of state to join his ticket ran rampant Saturday after Drudge Report cited a source close to the campaign saying the former mayor was eyeing Clinton as a running mate.

Two New Yorkers — Clinton calls Chappaqua, N.Y., home — on the same ticket could create a potentially tricky situation in the Electoral College.

But Bloomberg is reportedly considering changing his official residence to homes in Colorado or Florida to avoid the issue.

Still, Clinton remains unpopular among some factions of the Democratic Party.

The latest University of Massachusetts Lowell poll of likely New Hampshire Democratic primary voters showed just 47% of survey takers viewing Clinton favorably and 38% viewing her unfavorably in a state where she beat President Trump in 2016.

“Clinton’s favorables are quite low even among Democratic primary voters,” said John Cluverius, a UMass Lowell political science professor and former political operative. “There’s a sense that primary voters — as much as they have staked a lot of arguments in 2020 as rehashes of 2016 — the last thing they want to do is re-fight 2016.”

Exactly.  Talk about a self imposed death sentence.  Choosing Killary as your running mate ensures you ultimately run out of time.  Fast.
