The government is informing the public that China somehow launched a spy balloon over our country and we're not going to shoot it down?

Easy peasy, shoot the damn thing down. Hold on a minute! I read some folks suspect China is sending us a new 'Whunan' type virus inside the balloon. If so, they must have miscalculated because, last I read, it was hovering over one of the least populated parts of the U.S.

Ever wonder what happens when a virus loaded balloon bursts open? Where does the virus go? Hint, it goes into the atmosphere and ends up blowing in the wind to who knows where? Maybe right into your ‘backyard’. Hope not. But if you should happen to survive it, be sure to let everyone know, especially ‘big Pharma’ so they can quickly get another virus fighting, money making, Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine on the market.

A massive Chinese surveillance balloon that moved across the continental U.S. this week has been shot down.

The Pentagon has confirmed the balloon was being used for surveillance, disputing China's claim that it was a civilian aircraft used for meteorological purposes. Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said the balloon didn't pose a physical or military threat, and once it was detected, the U.S. took steps to protect against foreign intelligence collection of sensitive information.

They knew about this before hit land as it was coming in..they could have shot it down then in the Pacific instead of letting it go completely across our country and military installations. Either they knew about it or they complied and colluded with China.

Chinese spy balloons over US during Trump admin 'discovered after' he left office: senior Biden official

Information suggesting that Chinese spy balloons traveled over the continental United States during the Trump administration was "discovered after" former President Donald Trump left office, a senior administration official told Fox News.

A defense official on Saturday said Chinese spy balloons briefly traveled over the United States at least three times during the Trump administration.

But on Sunday, a senior administration official told Fox News Digital that "U.S. intelligence, not the Biden administration" assesses that "PRC (People's Republic of China) government surveillance balloons transited the continental U.S. briefly at least three times during the prior administration and once that we know of at the beginning of this administration, but never for this duration of time."

The official told Fox News that "this information was discovered after the [Trump] administration left."
"They went undetected," the official told Fox News Digital. The official explained that Chinese surveillance balloons are "part of a larger pattern."

"These balloons are all part of a PRC fleet of balloons developed to conduct surveillance operations, which have also violated the sovereignty of other countries," the official explained, adding that these activities are "often undertaken at the direction of the People’s Liberation Army."

The official said that over the past several years, Chinese balloons have been spotted over countries across five continents, including in East Asia, South Asia and Europe.
"Two things can be true at once: this happened, and it wasn’t detected," the official told Fox News Digital.

Meanwhile, U.S. officials told Fox News on Sunday that a Chinese spy balloon crashed into the Pacific off the coast of Hawaii four months ago. Those officials said that at least one Chinese spy balloon flew over portions of Texas and Florida during the Trump administration.

“Chinese spy balloon carried explosives to self-detonate“

Following the shooting down of a Chinese spy balloon over the weekend, Pentagon officials have revealed that the balloon potentially was carrying explosives to destroy itself.

According to the Daily Mail, Air Force Gen. Glen D. VanHerck, commander of US Northern Command, revealed in a Monday call with reporters that the Balloon, in addition to potentially carrying explosives, was 200 feet tall, weighed thousands of pounds, and its payload was the size of a jetliner.

VanHerck’s comments came following a briefing by National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, who defended Biden’s decision to wait to shoot down the balloon until the weekend.

"Because the president decided they wouldn't shoot it down until he could do so safely, and that meant over water, that afforded us a terrific opportunity to gain a better understanding, to study the capabilities of this balloon," Kirby said.

On the coast of South Carolina on Saturday afternoon, the US military, using an F-22 fighter jet, shot down the balloon with a missile.

Shortly before the balloon was shot down, Federal Aviation Administration had issued a ground stop for three airports in the Carolinas located in Wilmington, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The balloon had entered US airspace on January 28 and was known to the Biden administration for nearly a week before its report in the news on Thursday, February 2. The White House reportedly tried to keep its presence secret to not disrupt Secretary of State Antony Blinken scheduled trip to China, which was postponed after the public's discovery of the balloon.

What an embarrassing fiasco.  Should have been shot down the moment it crossed into Alaska.  The fact they let it be guided across the entire country, including over military sites, for an entire week, is just insane.  Who the heck is running the country?? 

I can see the Chinese people navigating this spy balloon just laughing at us.  A giant middle finger to the United States.
