Question for Christians - and others about Federal Budget
« on: October 15, 2009, 06:14:11 AM »
In your opinion, should a part of the Federal budget be spent on preparing for a potential war with Satan?

Today, a good portion of the budget is spent on Military (around 25 percent).

Perhaps some should be spent on building a strong defence for the day Armageddon arrives and Satan unleashes his troops on mankind?

Do you think the Military should work on a strategy on fighting Satan, should Satan suddenly appear?

Thanks.

No.  The way I understand it, when Armageddon happens, Christ will come back and take care of business.

Matthew 24:30-31
"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Revelation 19:11-21
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.  His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.  The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great."

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

Some people believe the US isn't mentioned in the bible regarding this time and they have theorized that we have been neutralized in some way previous to this.

No.

Ephesians 6:12 (New International Version)
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

To add,

No!

The fact is, God has set a limit to the time when human governments will operate, and that time limit has arrived. Speaking of all the nationalistic governments of our day, here is something to note that Daniel wrote - "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever". (Daniel 2:44).
