and damn, has anyone else noticed how when athletes get older,their lats seem to beome higher?like the lower part is waisting away?
age is a bitch.i know many will say this and that drug, but i think it simply has alot to do with ageing, theres no stopping that
1. I don't think your back genetics are actually that bad. And I'd say Ramy's back is actually quite good, even when he was smaller. He lacks some refinement -- for example, he doesn't seem to have that sick Christmas tree or lower-inner lat striations like Flex, Dorian and Ronnie had -- but that's mostly a function of getting drier. He's PLENTY lean enough.
2. Eh, I thought Victor looked pretty good. He's no spring chicken, but Palumboism phase I? Hmm. Maybe. His arms and thighs are still big, but I guess it's phase/stage II or III when those shrink :D If you just mean his gut, he's always been a bit thick in the abs. His waist is probably not as small as it was when he should've won the Olympia some years back, but then, I've not seen the man in motion -- just in pics. Those don't tell the whole story, as you know.
3. Age is definitely a bitch. I recently turned 35 and, after training for 21 years, my right rotator cuff suddenly started hurting so bad, I nearly shit my shorts and/or piss in 'em when I try to raise my arm above eye-level. NO fun :( Time for a cortisone shot, I reckon, even though I'm a cheap son-of-a-bitch and, ironically, I'm a bit afraid of needles :D
4. I agree: I think it's simply getting older, not whatever drug cocktail, that results in that muscle-shortening effect. You can see this in some of the dudes from the 70s and 80s who maintain otherwise respectable physiques, but not just in the lats. The bis and tris seem to shrink away from the elbow, even among some cats who had upper arm muscles that seemed to insert almost halfway up the forearm :LOL:
I'm trying to think of prominent examples, but I'm coming up short :( Zane does come to mind, but the last time he decided to get in top shape and show off in pics, it was obvious that someone, if not Frank himself, morphed his upper body from top to bottom. Bill Grant, maybe? Ed Corney? I would drunkenly conjecture Levrone, but that guy seems to have stumbled upon some anti-aging elixir or something; his muscle bellies are as full as ever, even after all those years, and countless reps of, benching 500+. Maybe it's his vodka, with a good test/tren/anadrol chaser?
Yeah. The vodka must be the trick :D

I believe you're right on both aspects. It's prob a matter of achieving muscle maturity in his case.

yeah d.p. matter of time,,,to platz's credit he did it for almost 2 decades with those legs,demayo 10 yrs from teen to 1996 then downhill spiral,kai has been at it for 10 yrs but only last few yrs he became freak.
