Nutrex Ad - Does this ad work for the men?
« on: August 31, 2010, 09:46:41 PM »
Interesting comments from Hardbody.com, in which Isaac and some of the female competitors are not too keen with this ad from Nutrex for the Vitrix ad. As it doesn't view these women as athletes? What do you think of the ad?

http://www.hardbody.com/news/2010/08/31/sex-sells-sleaze-shouldnt/

However, one should be aware that is ad is geared for men, not women, as Vitrix is a sex enhancing pill.

Nutrex has a number of various ads featuring women competitors as athletes (see below), for their other products, as judged by these two advertisements appearing in Oxygen Magazine.

So it is fair to signal out one ad out of 10, especialy when the product is geared toward men?

Those women are athletic, but not necessarily athletes.

The ad itself is fine - no straight man is going to get turned off by that image. It gets your attention, which is the primary goal of an ad anyway.

*edit* Just checked out the link and saw this by IH

It’s pretty apparent that this company doesn’t view these women as athletes

Gimme a break - the whole division / event those women compete in is centred around bodily image, so I don't see the harm in using the same in a provocative way to sell a sex supplement.

All these women would complain a lot less if someone would just stick a dick in their mouth.

its a freakin Sex pill..........for men...........of course they are going to market it according to archetypal male desires

within the context of of what is being sold, its correct..........NUTREX is a nutritional/Atletic supplement company................b ut a pill designed for sexual enhancment carries with it different connotations and marketing necessities

if it was one of their muscle building supplement............th at they were using egregious and overt sexual images to market, then i would admit they were marginalizing female athletes...........like that gaspari ad for example, if you are goin g to argue about anything, that one is probably the worst............she has that haladrol right down by her pussy.............but even that is not bad, because its selling an image of masculinity that HALADROL is supposed to help you achieve...........and there is another weird line, because you would expect a bikini competitor like marzia prince to be marketed sexually......the whole premise of the bikini division is to market and exploit female sexuality

but yeh, sexual enhancment products are a special subcatagory in the product line of supplement companies..........ads for sexual enhancment products carry different boundaries........adn it has ALWAYS been this way

So let me get this straight....some people are offended because a company targeting men with a sex pill are using provocative images of females who don't appear to be "athletes?"  Whatever the hell "athletes" means as probably 75% of the chicks in ads who are ripped have either never participated in, or sucked at, any sport they ever attempted.  Very few truly athletic women look like the ripped, hormonized chicks that these closet phags would call "athletes."

I don't see it any different than the marketing for Viagra or even for Hardee's/Carl's Jr  Burgers.

Big whoop, Ron and very hypocritical of you considering that you appointed Tre as an expert on this board when he specializes in the women's bodybuilding schmoe fetish arena.

Can these "Athletes" bounce a ball, throw a ball, hit a ball, run very fast, jump very high?  Um no, they do cheerleading moves which recently was declared to not be a sport which means these women are not athletes.  They are models.

As for Marzia  :P :P :P :P

Plenty of ways to sell sex without making it sleazy. Both women are attractive but you've never know it from this ad. They've both won shows yet the company chooses to position them in a tacky manner. The photo is terrible.

My issue isn't with the women it's with a company that takes a cheap, easy way out to marketing their product. It's like a video showing a dude getting kicked in the nuts - good for a laugh but it's been done thousands of times. Do something original and don't make your sponsored "athletes" look cheap.

Ron you're a kiss ass.  :-*

Nutrex isn't forcing these women to do these pictures and they were willing to participate in the shoot.

Waste if time even mentioning this ad as its nothing that hasn't been done in mainsteam advertising.  When they start licking each others twats out like a Strawberry Slurpee spiked with The Situation's New Vodka drink then give me a call.
