You know, a couple centuries ago, only the most bad ass people of society were homosexuals. Used to be pretty damn hardcore, then people went and gayed it up.
The Spartans were homosexuals.....they each had a 'lover' who they fought side-by-side with. Their wives were just for making healthy babies.
Same applies to the ancient Greeks to a lesser extent, since relationships between an older male and a younger one were encouraged.
And since the Romans idolized the Greeks, they had no problems with it either, that is of course before they became Christian.....
