That was his first book.  Ripped II is a way better book.  Actually all of his books as a whole is a first rate education in bodybuilding.  His books don't read like they are aimed at 12 year olds like the majority of bodybuilding books.  He backs up his thoughts with research most of the time.  He isn't the best bodybuilder who ever lived but he got the most out of his limited potential.  I highly recommend his books.  Ripped one, I would say is good but not his best effort.

i bought that book years ago, nothing much to learn from it

basically he ate some whole eggs whole grains some raisons and a huge mixed salad before bed, he did some steroids but was natural most of the time because he didnt like the sides

i think he fared better from low volume but strict dieting

Not when that book was published, he wasn't. He was in his early/mid 40's at that time. Looked awesome WELL into his 60's.
