This is a e-mail from one of my gym's members who workouted in here Taipei .
...
How's it going?  I'm in Toronto, studying and working a bit.  In the gyms here, everyone wastes time between sets and spends too much time warming up.  I said to my workout partner: NO REST!

I hope everything is going well in your corner of Taipei.  All's well in Canada and the snow is going away.  I think I like Taipei more than Toronto.  I'm here for another four months then I move to Los Angeles.

I'll send some pictures when I take them...

Say hi to everyone for me.

all best,
Brad

Wong Hong's physique is very aesthetics.
But in pro bb competitions field ,he need bring up his back & shoulders wider;arms bigger (from back pose).
So maybe he need put 10-15 lbs of muscle .

Thanks Coach.. I've never been called a tall poppy before! The venue was a sell out, I was lucky to have a seat at pre-judging!

I remember 1988 Universe very well, that was the year I started training! Was it the same year that Lee was disqualified?

I remembered that Lee Priest had competed in  IFBB 1988 Mr.Universe as lightweight or batamweight when he was only 16 years old .
(Lee Priest was born July 6, 1972 in Newcastle, Australia. He has many highlights, including: 1986 Sydney Bodybuilding Classic 1st place; 1989 Mr. Australia 1st place place; 1990 Mr. Australia 1st place; 1991 Mr. Australia 1st place. his mother  was also a bodybuilding competitor.)

Hello everyone!
As I said before I am a natural body builder. This means no juice at all.
For one month I did not work out due to chronic arm and shoulder injury. And yesterday I fell two meters on the side of my leg causing major bruising. (very dangerous for a man over 50s)
The point is: since I am all natural, I still look like I am and in good shape as you can tell from the pics. (Yes 1 month no training, I lost some size & definition) After the pics taken,Today I start to workout again !
The message is to stay clean. You don’t need to cut corners and take juice. If I was taking juice, the pics would show a lot of water retention like some pros and my body would be totally out of shape. Stay real and stay clean.

hi musclecenter, i have a very simple question for you;

did being muscular make you happier in your everyday life, do you consider it as the main factor of your hapiness, or just a part of a more complete puzzle.

thanks for the honnest and long answer i m waiting for.

Yes !a muscular body has made me happier "some times" .
But in our culture ,the public always think bodybuilders are dumb ,juiced & low-educated people.

But in our culture ,the public always think bodybuilders are dumb ,juiced & low-educated people.

i guess it is what most people think everywhere in the world whatever the country you live in!

But how do you manage to live with people who think you are dumb, low educated ?
Isnt it harsch to know most people think  this way about you in your everyday life?

In europe and north america, bodybuilders can be compared to the lot of obese/fat people , so we see that they are smart to make their body be healthier, but even here most bodybuilders are considered as stupid
meatheads.

I really respect the way you trained your whole life and i'm sharing the same goal; be as muscular as i can naturally as LONG as possible, unlike bodybuilders who use steroids and decide for some reasons to get off it and then look like shit.

I think being consistant and enjoying the benefits from a natural experience is what weight lifting is all about.

Thank you for the very good example you represent.

According to AP via Yahoo! News - Apr 03 5:09 PM
In this undated photo provided by www.childrenwithdiabetes .com. Doug Burns is seen. Burns, a diabetic, faces charges of assault and resisting arrest following a run-in with police who mistakenly believed he was intoxicated. Burns, 43, was sprayed with Mace and wrestled to the ground by officers who were summoned to a movie theater Sunday night, April 1, 2007, by a security guard, authorities said. Burns, who was trying a new diabetes drug that night, said Monday he was preparing to see a film when he felt dizziness and poor vision — a sign of low blood sugar — and hurried to a snack counter.
Burns won first prize in the 2006 Mr. Natural Universe competition and often speaks publicly about his diabetes to raise awareness of the disease. (AP Photo/www.childrenwithdiabetes.com)

As I know that Japan's national bb contest (JBBF) have enforced very strict drug-test for the amateur bodybuilders.
Here are pics of Japan Nationals overall winner 2006.

Japan's anti doping laws must be the hardest in the world i think.
If you see an amateur contest, nearly all competitors seem natural.

Hello Everyone !
Today I have trained my legs again after my leg’s bruising.a couple days ago.which is not a typical training method for the average person !
Now I favour smith-machine full-squat due to a chronic low-back problem.
7 sets of 10reps (110 kgs)This is of course baby weight for young guys and pros .
but for a guy in his 50’s it is almost very difficult !

According to 04/09/2007 www.record-eagle.com's report :
The 63-year-old vegetarian grandmother proved that Saturday night, when she won the "Elite Class” and "Overall” titles against women half her age at the 27th Annual Grand Traverse Bodybuilding Championship and Figure Contest.
"I'm speechless,” she said. "It's a dream come true.”

The asparagus-loving vegetarian from Traverse City has been participating in bodybuilding competitions since 1998. Saturday's competition was her sixth event.

"I was intimidated at first,” Forrest said of her first bodybuilding competition. "It's a lot of energy. You take on a role when you're up on stage. You are like an actress taking on a part.”

Her oldest son, Scott Clark, wasn't surprised when his mom told him and the rest of the family nine years ago that she planned to participate in a bodybuilding competition.

"She is pretty much an athlete,” he said. "It was pretty unique to see your mom in a pretty tiny bikini with bronzer all over. It took a lot of courage. She definitely is a role model.”
