I am beginning to think almost every bodybuilder has at some point in their career traded on the fact that some guys are attracted to muscular men. What percentage of the guys posting on Getbig do you think fit that description?
I was a skinny (kick sand in the face type) kid. I aspired to be musclebound like Charles Atlas, so others would fear making fun of me. Somewhere along the way, that adoration turned into bodybuilder idolization.
When I was still a prepubescent kid of 11 or 12, I remember seeing this older fellow, when I was at the beach with my mom, who had the physique I dreamed of having someday. He was probably in his teens or early twenties. He wore a very brief black swimsuit. I was so enthralled, that I did everything I could to try and start up a conversation with him, which he had absolutely no interest in doing.
So, the bottom line is that I was a juvenile 'schmoe'. Sexual urges weren't a part of my life yet, so I doubt it was about sexual attraction. Was it gay? Looking back and being honest, I have to say there was something going on with me that I was not yet aware of. It is funny how I can look back and see how my future was going to play out.
Briefly, as a young man, I actually aspired to be a male stripper/hustler. My desire to be physically desired was so strong. Fortunately, my moral compass kept me in check and I completely avoided taking my life in that direction.
