Those videos are really great finds. Never saw those videos before. Interesting that he echoed Bill Pearl's sentiment about heavy weights on the second tape during the interview at the end. He basically said if you use heavy weights it will become hellish and you will miss workouts to recover losing training time. The same thing Pearl said.

Nice observation, but Beckles and Pearl were very strong, so they some how built strength in the first place.

Of course they are. Beckles was an Olympic lifter and Pearl pushed some serious weights. I guess what they are saying if you want lifting longevity for decades you can't push to the max with heavy weights or you will burn yourself out taking time off repeatedly. Training consistency is very important as well as protecting your joints.
