Biden recession.

Democrats:  Just as a man can identify as a woman and we must respect that, this economy chooses to identify as strong and not as a recession, and we must respect that.

Mexico’s president taunts Biden over energy policy trade fight: ‘Ooooh, I’m so scared’
Fortune ^ | 7/21/22 | Will Daniel
Posted on 7/29/2022, 6:14:00 PM by EBH

There’s a brewing trade dispute between the U.S. and Mexico on energy policy, and it’s getting ugly fast.

“Ooooh, I’m so scared,” Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) said at a Wednesday press conference, referencing a popular Mexican song and taunting the Biden administration by ordering his staff to play it.

When reporters asked him how he proposes to solve the policy spat, AMLO was defiant: “Nothing will happen.”

What is going on here?

It started early on Wednesday, when U.S. officials argued that AMLO’s energy policies favor Mexico’s state-run electrical utility and oil companies and undermine American business.

The U.S. said it was seeking “dispute settlement consultations” under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USCMA), a trade agreement meant to ensure balanced, reciprocal trading between North American nations. It was a first step in a process that could lead to tariffs on some Mexican products.

Biden Reverses Course, Will Close Gaps In Areas Of Border Wall As Crisis Hits D.C., Elections Loom
The Daily Wire ^ | Jul 28, 2022 | By Ryan Saavedra
Posted on 7/29/2022, 9:40:49 AM by Red Badger

YUMA, ARIZONA- MAY 20: An immigrant (R) walks to cross through a gap in the U.S.-Mexico border barrier as others (C) await processing by the U.S. Border Patrol on May 20, 2022 in Yuma, Arizona. Title 42, the controversial pandemic-era border policy enacted by former President Trump, which cites COVID-19 as the reason to rapidly expel asylum seekers at the U.S. border, was set to officially expire on May 23rd. A federal judge in Louisiana delivered a ruling today blocking the Biden administration from lifting Title 42. Mario Tama/Getty Images Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration will fill gaps in certain areas of former President Donald Trump’s border wall on the U.S. southern border as the illegal immigration crisis hits Washington, D.C., following a decision by Republican governors to transport thousands of illegal aliens to the nation’s capital.

The Associated Press noted that Biden “pledged during his campaign to cease all future wall construction,” but that his administration has now agreed to some additional barriers.

Controversial Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas authorized the project that will close four massive gaps in the border wall near Yuma, Arizona, which has been decimated by Biden’s border crisis.

The report suggested that part of the reason that Biden might have made closing those specific gaps a “priority” is because vulnerable Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) is up for re-election and the current political winds could make it very difficult for him to hold onto his seat.

The development comes after Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott effectively told Washington, D.C., Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser to pound sand Thursday afternoon after she complained that the border state was flooding her city with illegal aliens.

“With pledges from Texas and Arizona to continue these abhorrent operations indefinitely, the situation is dire, and we consider this a humanitarian crisis — one that could overwhelm our social support network without immediate and sustained federal intervention,” Bowser wrote in requesting help from the National Guard.

“We’ve had a number of discussions,” she said. “We’ve facilitated FEMA’s involvement with a million dollar grant that has now been increased to work with a lead nonprofit agency. We’ve facilitated using those grant funds to set up respite center in a neighboring jurisdiction and I’ve also asked the Secretary of the Army to deploy the D.C. National Guard to help lead that effort.”

Abbott responded on Twitter, writing: “D.C. is experiencing a fraction of the disastrous impact the border crisis has caused Texas.”

“Mayor Bowser should stop attacking Texas for securing the border & demand Joe Biden do his job,” Abbott added.

Bowser said in her letter that she expects the “crisis” in D.C., a term that Democrats have resisted using when talking about Biden’s border crisis, “to escalate.” “The number of people crossing the border seeking asylum, we expect to only go up, we need to make sure that there is a national response, not an ad hoc city by city, state by state response,” she continued.

Abbott spokeswoman Renae Eze told the Washington Examiner that the nation’s capital, which is overwhelmingly deep blue, “finally understands what Texans have been dealing with every single day, as our communities are overrun and overwhelmed by thousands of illegal immigrants thanks to President Biden’s open border policies.”

Over the past three months, more than 150 buses have reportedly transported over 4,000 migrants to D.C. from Arizona and Texas.

This report has been updated to include additional information.

MSNBC Touts 'Biden's Success Story,' Compares Him to REAGAN, Not Jimmy Carter
MRC Newsbusters ^ | August 1st, 2022 7:08 AM | Tim Graham
Posted on 8/1/2022, 10:49:11 AM by Red Badger

Was this a Biden commercial? Or just an Axios.com commercial touting Biden?

At the end of Monday's Way Too Early, MSNBC host Jonathan Lemire introduced their regular feature on Axios.com's "1 Big Thing." Axios co-founder Mike Allen (a former New York Times and Washington Post reporter) sounded like a Biden advertisement, gushing over "Biden's Success Story" on the economy and going so far as to compare him to Ronald Reagan at this point in their presidencies, even though Biden looks more like Jimmy Carter.

Allen touted "Biden's winning streak" on legislation, a "rewiring of the economy."

ALLEN: So we just saw the new investments in chip-making in the U.S. Early, big investments in the U.S. capacity to make vaccines, get ready for the next threat. Of course, the infrastructure bill. And the interesting twist to this, Jonathan, is that there is an America-First populist streak to this. That is more oil drilling, here! Making more vaccines, here! With a possible victory coming up, more clean energy, here! And possibly the biggest in history.

Now, asterisk to this, is so far, President Biden doesn't seem to be getting a whole lot of credit for this. He hasn't explained it as well as he could. But when you add it up, it is a remarkable record.

Biden hasn't explained his "success story," so he needs liberal journalists to do it for him.

If this boosterism wasn't gross enough, then came the comparisons to Ronald Reagan. Lemire called it an "unlikely" comparison. That's putting it mildly. But Allen went to work (for the White House "confidant," maybe chief of staff Ron Klain):

ALLEN: The headline on Axios, "We are Reagan." That's what a Biden confidant told me. And here's what they have in mind. You and I could say Biden had a series of breaks after not being able to catch a break for a year. Baby formula winding up on his desk. The Biden view is that he is, this is a payoff, a vindication, for playing the long game. So when that confidant said "We are Reagan," their extension of that was, we had a big plan, and it's getting in place. And what they say is that President Biden, sticking to his bottom-up, middle-out strategy for the economy, rather than top down, has paid off. That they've stuck to that across all of their big issues.

It's more like a bottomed-out economy, dragging down everyone and their retirement accounts. But then it got really goopy:

ALLEN: And Jonathan, they point us to a poll, in The Washington Post, August 1982, 40 years ago this month for the seasoned viewers out there, Barry Sussman byline, one of the classics. And this was a poll with 58 percent of people in August 1982, saying that first-term president Ronald Reagan shouldn't run again. And of course, as resonance to this, we've had a parade of polls, people saying President Biden shouldn't run again. Most notably, there's a new USA Today-Suffolk poll saying two- thirds of voters don't think President Biden or former President Trump should run again. They don't want the rematch. And the punchline to this, less than two years after that poll, in 1984, Ronald Reagan won 49 states, the most electoral [college] votes of any candidate in history.

Allen offered the "asterisk" that while "the president's inner circle may think of him as Reagan," there's "great skepticism among voters."

This MSNBC segment comparing Biden to Reagan was brought to you in part by T-Mobile.

For a target of such significance you'd imagine they would ensure there was no doubt about the target's identity. They did the same for Bin Laden even though they denied it. I wonder what those "other sources" were and at least for the "visual" confirmation, was there anything left of the guy?

U.S. Has No DNA on Zawahiri, Confirmed Death by Other Sources - White House

The United States has no DNA confirmation of the death of al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in the heart of Kabul, a White House spokesman on Tuesday, but verified his identity through other sources.

"We do not have DNA confirmation. We're not going to get that confirmation. Quite frankly, based on based on multiple sources and methods that we've gathered information from, we don't need it," White House national security spokesman John Kirby said in an interview with CNN.

"We have visual confirmation, but we also have confirmation through other sources."

If only we had assets there to pick up al-Zawahiri bits for DNA confirmation.

OPEC+ agrees tiny output rise in setback for Biden

OPEC+ is set to raise its oil output goal by 100,000 barrels per day, an amount analysts said was a setback to U.S. President Joe Biden after his trip to Saudi Arabia to ask the producer group's leader to pump more to help the United States and the global economy.

The increase, equivalent to 0.1% of global demand, follows weeks of speculation that Biden's trip to the Middle East and Washington's clearance of missile defence system sales to Riyadh and the United Arab Emirates will bring more oil to the world market.

"That is so little as to be meaningless. From a physical standpoint, it is a marginal blip. As a political gesture, it is almost insulting," said Raad Alkadiri, managing director for energy, climate, and sustainability at Eurasia Group.

The increase of 100,000 bpd will be one of the smallest since OPEC quotas were introduced in 1982, OPEC data shows.

Jean-Pierre mocked for claiming Supreme Court Dobbs decision was unconstitutional
The Whitehouse Wire ^ | Aug 3, 2022 | Staff
Posted on 8/4/2022, 10:37:09 AM by Red Badger

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was mocked and ridiculed online after claiming that the Dobbs decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade ruling was unconstitutional.

Jean-Pierre made the comments during the White House media briefing on Wednesday.

“From day one, when the Supreme Court made this extreme decision to take away a constitutional right, it was an unconstitutional action by them, a right that was around for almost 50 years, a right that women had to make a decision on their bodies and how they want to start their families,” she said.

Democrats and others on the left have been in an uproar since the Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 ruling and sent the decision on abortion rights to be decided by each individual state. Numerous abortion clinics have shut down all across the country while those seeking abortions have been forced to cross state lines to do so.

Critics of the Biden administration mocked the statement from Jean-Pierre.

“She is not the first self-appointed tenth justice but may be the first White House Press Secretary to make such Article III judgments,” replied legal analyst Jonathan Turley.

“This woman may be the dumbest press secretary ever employed by a White House and I remember Scott McClellan,” tweeted talk radio host Erick Erickson.

“It honestly feels cruel to put her on the podium and make her answer questions each day,” responded Abigail Marone, press secretary for Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.).

“A lot of you are dunking on her for this, but just feel lucky she didn’t say it was disinformation. Or domestic extremism. Or factcheckers rated this false. Or whatever other words they’re using for ‘things I don’t like’ this week,” replied security advisor Omri Ceren.

“Tell me you don’t understand the purpose of the Supreme Court without telling me you don’t understand the purpose of the Supreme Court,” read one response.

While abortion supporters claim that the right to abortion has been established through precedent of numerous cases since Roe v. Wade, even some on the left have admitted that the legal basis of the 1973 decision was shaky.

Biden Appeared to Overstate the Role of al-Qaida's Leader

In announcing last week that the leader of al-Qaida, Ayman al-Zawahri, had been killed in a U.S. drone strike in Kabul, Afghanistan, President Joe Biden described the long-sought terrorist as “a mastermind” behind the USS Cole bombing in 2000.

Biden also said al-Zawahri was “deeply involved in the planning” of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
