You do realise that artificially bolstering your currency is effectively saying that sanctions are working, right?

Just like Covid. When the “experts” are wrong, move the goalposts and claim victory anyway.

Doesn’t matter. No one gives a shit anymore. I just saw a sign on a deli window for a “Vigil for Ukraine.” It’s was dated April 18.

Now the media is making child soldiers vogue again so that Ukrainians of every size get to be disposable cannon-fodder in order to prop up what the media calls a "modern day maccabee", Zelensky, aka diminutive non-Ukrainian presiding over the massacre of Ukranians and shamelessly and amorally taking credit as a hero.

A different child soldier:

Still from above linking which features a video:

Well worth looting over $60 billion total from the US and slaughtering gentile lives for.

If anyone truly thinks that the ruble is doing great, they should buy that shit up! Yeh, didn’t think so. No goalposts being moved here, the Russian economy is in the gutter.

Anyone who truly believes in the Ukrainian cause should go fight.

That won’t happen. No one cares anymore except military contractors looking to make a score.

Did you really expect attention deficit disordered liberals and millennials to hold onto an issue for an extended period?

Regarding Russia’s economy, it was a fail before invading Ukraine. It’s not the war but communism/socialism.

Zelensky has untrained kids defending Ukraine now. Going to fight and certainly die for a war that can't be won. They'd be better off joining the Russians.

After months of propaganda about supposedly heroic Ukrainians who defeat the bungling Russians and their cold war weaponry, the media is now starting to give a different more truthful image of the situation. Apparently lighting buildings with blue/yellow lights or putting the blue/yellow flag next to your twitter avatar and saying "I stand with Ukraine" doesn't do shit.

Ukrainian volunteer fighters in the east feel abandoned

Stuck in their trenches, the Ukrainian volunteers lived off a potato per day as Russian forces pounded them with artillery and Grad rockets on a key eastern front line. Outnumbered, untrained and clutching only light weapons, the men prayed for the barrage to end — and for their own tanks to stop targeting the Russians.

“They [Russians] already know where we are, and when the Ukrainian tank shoots from our side it gives away our position,” said Serhi Lapko, their company commander, recalling the recent battle. “And they start firing back with everything — Grads, mortars.

“And you just pray to survive.”

Ukrainian leaders have projected and nurtured a public image of military invulnerability — of their volunteer and professional forces triumphantly standing up to the Russian onslaught. Videos of assaults on Russian tanks or positions are posted daily on social media. Artists are creating patriotic posters, billboards and T-shirts. The postal service even released stamps commemorating the sinking of a Russian warship in the Black Sea.

Ukrainian forces have succeeded in thwarting Russian efforts to seize Kyiv and Kharkiv and have scored battlefield victories in the east. But the experience of Lapko and his group of volunteers offers a rare and more realistic portrait of the conflict and Ukraine’s struggle to halt the Russian advance in parts of Donbas. Ukraine, like Russia, has provided scant information about deaths, injuries or losses of military equipment. But after three months of war, this company of 120 men is down to 54 because of deaths, injuries and desertions.

The volunteers were civilians before Russia invaded on Feb. 24, and they never expected to be dispatched to one of the most dangerous front lines in eastern Ukraine. They quickly found themselves in the crosshairs of war, feeling abandoned by their military superiors and struggling to survive.

“Our command takes no responsibility,” Lapko said. “They only take credit for our achievements. They give us no support.”

Also:

Russia gains control of another city in Ukraine's east

Russian-backed forces have taken control of the city of Lyman in the eastern Donetsk region, Ukrainian officials say. Claiming Lyman would represent the second major success for Russia this week, following the fall of Svitlodarsk further south.

Control of Severodonetsk and neighbouring Lysychansk is also the focus of Russian forces as they fight to seize further territory in Donbas.

UK PM Boris Johnson says Russian forces continue to "chew through ground" in the region, adding that Putin is making slow but palpable progress. Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Zelensky says his country is not "eager" to hold peace talks with his Russian counterpart - but it will have to anyway.

on the news tonight about 400 million people going to go hungry because they cant get grain out of Ukraine

Showed a barn with about a ton and a half of grain in it with pigeons eating it

Not sure how they are going to make that grain feed 400 million

Russia is by far the largest grain producer on the planet, if anyone starves it will be because the West refuses to buy Russias grain

Just more propaganda

In the US our government pays farmers not to produce so that the cost doesn't go down too low so no one makes a profit. We could easily supply our own country with grain if we wanted. I don't know about the rest of the world.

And that’s what’s happening. Russia may be bumbling and antiquated in terms of their armed forces, but just like every other way, they continue to throw cannon fodder at the front lines and slowly steam roll the opposing forces. Slow, but inevitable.

The defeated countries recovered just fine. The problem with Russia is an overbearing thug Government. So, no one can do anything innovative without getting the wrong kind of knock on the door. You need dynamism to have continued growth in an economy.

China allowed it for awhile, got rich and now they’re reverting back to their Commie ways.

Ukraine war volunteers are coming home, reckoning with difficult fight

Americans and other foreign fighters who’ve taken up arms against Russia describe glaring disparities in what they expected and what they experienced.

In interviews with The Washington Post, foreign fighters from the United States and elsewhere described conspicuous differences between what they expected the war to be like and what they experienced. They remembered going into battle underarmed and armed, occasionally thrilled to blow up Russian vehicles and feeling torn about whether to go back to Ukraine. Some intend to do so. Others saw friends die and decided that enough is enough.

Other volunteers described various frustrations. Pascal, a veteran of the German Army, was on a team with Cancel, the American killed in action in late April. Problems arose during their first mission, he said.

The team suspected that their two-way radios were being monitored by Russian forces and they lacked extra batteries, forcing them to rely on unsecured cell phones and WhatsApp to communicate. Shortly after they exchanged plans, their position was attacked by Russian artillery, he said.

The volunteers felt underinformed during many of their missions without knowing where they were — and vitally, where the Russians were, Pascal said. The day Cancel was killed, he said, they took fire from a position they thought was Ukrainian but did not have radio communications to confirm. Two members of the team ventured out to investigate. Gunshots sounded and they never returned, he said.

The remaining team members came under heavy fire, including artillery shells, from the same direction, Pascal said. One team member was killed in the shelling. Pascal and another volunteer turned their attention to Cancel, who had been hit by shrapnel, he said. They applied tourniquets in a fruitless attempt to stop the bleeding. Their bodies were left behind when Pascal and another survivor retreated.

Now that the situation doesn't look like the MSM hype and lies, Ukraine in not the "current thing" anymore.

Btw, I wonder if these fighters were counting on Sean Penn for help on the front lines.
