Ukraine Politician's Wife Caught at Border With $29Million in Cash

The wife of one of Ukraine's wealthiest politicians has been accused of attempting to leave the country with almost $30Million in cash, according to reports.

Anastasia Kotvitska, spouse of former MP Igor Kotvitsky, was allegedly discovered carrying $28million, as well as €1.3million, as she crossed the border into Hungary, The Times reported, citing local outlet Obozrevatel.

Kotvitsky could now face criminal charges for failing to declare the money as she left the besieged country.

The bricks of cash were reportedly discovered packed into several suitcases by Hungarian customs officials, which would mean Kotvitska would have somehow managed to get the haul past Ukrainian border officials first; investigators are now looking into whether bribes may have been handed over.

Kotvitska's 54-year-old husband, who reportedly controls Nuclear Energy Systems of Ukraine and a number of uranium deposits, said his wife was leaving the country to give birth — but denied she was carrying the seven-figure sum.

"All my money is in Ukrainian banks, I did not take anything out," he said — before closing his social media account.

He also released a statement on his 24-year-old daughter's Instagram account, branding the story "fake and rumors".

Kotvitska herself, who was reportedly traveling with her mother and two Hungarian men, has not yet commented.

Seyar Khushutov, a Kyiv businessman who according to The Times uncovered the incident, said border guards were illicitly charging between 3 and 7.5 percent to turn a blind eye.

"The names of the customs officers and border guards who do this are well known in narrow circles," he told Obozrevatel.

You support the West even when it invades countries and kills innocent civilians?

I dont support any wars unless its in defence of your country, your own country, not some far off distant land where the people couldnt give a single fuck about you
Problem is America has been the world police for decades and now countries depend on us to get involved. Personally I agree with you, FTW and mind our own, unfortunately I don't think that's always possible. :(

Its all fun and games until the first nuke is launched.

I have no idea what the fuck NATO and the US are trying to do here. The sanctions hurt the middle class and the poor the world over and this aggression towards a nuclear power with enough nukes to blanket the planet in mushroom clouds is beyond asinine.

Does anybody think that at this point Putin is just going to turn around and go home? So far he has been very gentle and patient and actually trying to limit the loss of civilian life and yet the whole western hemisphere is getting involved. What are they going to do if he decides every country that is getting involved is now a legit target, They have supersonic missiles (that work very well as had been recently demonstrated) and those missiles can carry nuclear warheads. So far we have no way of defending against that.

This is what happens when the IQ of your ruling class is sub-90. Absolute fucking madness.

The point of having Nukes is that as a country you can do bad shit ( Like the US has been doing for decades) and the rest of the world has to negotiate with you because you can wreck them  just as much as they can wreck you. A mature Government would be trying to de-escalate. At this rate he is going to start bombing every country that tries to supply arms to Ukraine and dare them to do their worst. Nobody believes that Russia would lose in a war against the west. Which side do you think China would support?

THIS IS MADNESS!!
But would turning blind eye help west in the long run?
Actually a typical American voter didnt support intervening WW1 and WW2 but Europe can not deal with Russia, do you think letting Russia expand west and South will help USA in the not so distant future?

For many months all of the military editors have been denying that the Russians hypersonic missile was a threat as it was just in infancy and in experimental phases. They just got owned. Now Putin has a weapon that can’t be stopped and he’s in charge basically of what goes on for as long as the range as that missile allows.

While Biden talks about a NWO.

In 2018 Putin told Russians about hypersonic rocket !.

In 2019 Croatian admiral D.D. Loso informed NATO that there is no defence against hypersonic missile !.

Yesterday, British stated: we are hopeless against KNIZHAL !.

Yes, I do.  Europe should fear Russia and start acting like it by investing in their military at a proper rate instead of waiting for the US to protect them and pay for it.  This would help the US and the world.  We would have stronger allies and our enemies would have stronger enemies.

The problem is Europe in general didn’t invest in their military and still their economy is crumbling.
USA always waited to intervene and fared very well after both great wars.
I dunno, not intervening and leaving weak allies to a rival doesnt seem a good option.
I read somewhere that US is actually focused on South Pacific and on the watchout for China, which is probably true, but I dont think Europe and and middle east will left to Russia.
Actually Russia is not that powerful (I dont think it can swallow Europe and Turkey together) still its leash should be kept tight.

Look, they'll take Ukraine or some significant part of it and then this will be done for several years.  During that time Europe should man up if they are afraid of further Russian movement.  Instead they'll continue to make deals that make them dependent on Russia.  Trump called Germany out for this 4 years ago.  Did Europe man up then?  No.  Once they start acting like they are worried they'll act otherwise it's bullshit.  Just like the Climate Scare liars.  If they were really worried like they claim they'd be building nuclear plants immediately.

And yes Europe taking their own safety seriously would free us up more to watch the bigger threat of China.  Would China mind us getting involved in Ukraine?  I doubt it.  It weakens Russia and keeps us distracted.

Is Russia a totalitarian country or not ?
In the USA we got freedom of speech.
Take of your tin foil hat and think for a second why would you support the invasion and become part of the fifth column. Its war god damn it. Either you support the West or you are a traitor, just like in WW2.

The traitors are the people who voted the wests current leaders in. Weak people elect weak politicians. I would say reap what you sow, but as usual you on the left don't face the consequences of your actions, the poor people of Ukraine are doing it for you.

I hope they can, I wonder where the hell they spend all their GDP, it sure as hell they didn't invest in self defence.
It is amazing spending all you earn and still be an economic mess, I am not mentioning the social security crisis their elder population about to face soon.
It really is funny, they try to overthrow US influence when they are so fragile socially, economically and with no military to speak of.
Now Hitler's Europe invasion made sense, too bad for him that not all nations were weak as continent Europe's.

Inefficient government programs. The fly in the ointment of the “Social Safety Net” is that the programs end up bankrupt and more money has to be sucked out of the private sector and eventually the economy stops growing.

This is 2016. It gets worse every year:

The US installed permanent military and air bases across Europe, mainly in Germany in Italy.

First for occupation purposes and to deter a revival of National Socialist or Fascist governments and then for defence against Soviet and communist expansion.

I’m reminded of a movie about John Gotti. One of the old time gangsters said  Gotti was making a mistake by being so public and that the feds are a business and need to see a return. Same thing with the military. They need constant wars and threats to justify their huge budget.
