I wouldn't want to say Subway is misleading its clients, but if you look at how they advertise their sandwiches it becomes clear that they prey on the illiterate.
Here they advertise "Low fat, under 300kcal per 6" Subs" as the healthy option. The thing is, these "under 300kcal" sandwiches don't include sauce or cheese.
So yeah, get a footlong BMT with cheese and Chipotle (nearly 200kcal for a footlong serving) and that thing alone will net you well over 1000kcal. Add a large soft drink and a cookie and we're talking 1500+kcal.
Nothing new here.
