my friend named his son after me and like many babies he has a nickname which was bestowed upon by his wife, the problem is the nickname is not based on characteristics nor is it a spinoff of his name its a totally different name
ive come to find out that the majority of his in-laws refuse to call the baby by his name and when they do its in a condescending manner i also discovered that my name was considered as a novelty among many related to the wife including herself
my question is how can i avoid marrying such terrible women

Who the fuck names their kid after their friends? My son is named after his grandfather and his great-grandfather... we have a strong family and he will never forget where he came from.
