Who is this Lenny Mclean guy? Is this the UK's way to try and compete with real gangsters, such as Al Capone, John Dillinger, and John Gotti?
From what I know Lenny hated bullies, his stepdad was a bully, he just became very intolerant of any kind of disrespect. For anyone interested, the book written by his Mrs is a great read, gives some real insight on him from a different angle

That's not really a bad thing, bullies deserve to be battered regardless of how much the bloke doing it enjoyed it and couldn't wait to belt him, the guy being bullied is someone's son/family member and they'd sure appreciate them stopping any harm coming to him.
I think he means the kind of violence where people look for fights when their drugged up or pissed. Bare knuckle fighting put food on the table as he said. Maybe not born into it but as a young kid his stepfather battered him multiple times. He was a bully, Lenny toughened up and fought back, others would have gone the other way.Anyway I don't think Lenny was a bad guy and not a bully like some seem to think. I think he might have enjoyed his boxing but not the violence that comes from drunken, drugged up twat's.

Obviously can't speak for Lenny but a good family friend that was top dog in our area for about a decade you couldn't meet a better bloke to drink with, you could pull the piss out of him summat rotten and he took it as a joke and laughed it off, even to the point when someone set his hair on fire and it was so thin there was nowt left, it's generally the wankers desperate to prove themselves something there not who behave in the manner you mentioned, honest mate seen it a million times over.I seriously doubt Lenny felt he had owt to prove
