I could not, had to look it up. As uncharismatic as Shawn Rhoden was, I felt like I heard more from/about him after he won than with Brandon Curry. Hasn't really been much of a peep, nobody seems to care.
Is this what bodybuilding has been reduced to? A sport where nobody cares about the crowning champion? A sad state of affairs if so ...
This is ALWAYS said about the current crop of bodybuilders. It's so tired.
Every lament you make here was made 10 years ago about Phil Heath, 20 years ago about Ronnie Coleman, 25 years ago about Dorian Yates, and nearly 30 years ago about Lee Haney.
Nobody cared about Haney, until he broke Arnold's record. Even then, he got a brief posing routine on the Arsenio Hall Show, only to have Hall mock him the next night about "naked man" being on the show (because Hall showed shots of Haney on the guest couch at angles where you couldn't see Haney's trunks). Outside of that, he got a small article in Ebony magazine.
They complain about one man winning all the time; then they complain about the Olympia being a hot potato (Cutler, Jackson, Heath).
