Well, these pics prove why it is prudent that we hire the year's previous winner of our regional NPC show to guest pose. They are grateful for the honor and always come in decent to great shape.

Trey's front and back double bi don't look good because he doesn't roll his shoulders back far enough... his hands are not in line with his shoulders, they are to the front. i think this is why his lats don't "POP" out when he hits those poses... try doing a front double bi with your hands way forward and you'll see what im talking about.
i think trey is going to look good when he leans out. i don't understand though how someone who has devoted their life to bbing still doesnt even take the time to get the posing down...weird.

I was thinking the same thing. At least not pay as much. Would think a promoter would get some sort of contract before hand saying come looking like a bodybuilder or we won't pay you. I would be pissed if I brought in all these guys and all but Kai look like dog shit!

As for Trey, no way he will come in shape at the USA no matter how much shit he takes. His skin is way too thick and too much fat for 8 weeks out. :'(

If this is from Manion's Pittsburgh show, he probably isn't paying any of those guys jack shit. He has so many pros show up every year 'cause he's the boss and if they know what's good for them they have to haul their fat asses to Pittsburgh.

mark my words brewer will come in shape. gh speeds up the diet process by i 20% i would say..he has improved alot..i think he will have to kill the cardio BUT he will get down where he should be

I hope he drops out, for no matter how much GH speeds up the diet process, he'll have to bathe himself hourly in DNP in order to get in the shape he needs to beat anybody else onstage.

I think bulking and dieting should be prioritized on Trey's list before learning how to pose right. He can do all the proper posing in the world, but since he's a bulked up P.O.S. right now in the offseason, even with the proper posing he'd be covered in lard and nobody could see whatever he has underneath it all. :-\ :-X

I'm thinking that's her head on someone elses body. Her breasts were so large she actually had them reduced, but I don't think she had them brought down that small compared to her starting cup size. :-\

I don't care what these guys look like when they show up on stage. This is NOT what bodybuilding is about. These guys look like powerlifters (nothing wrong with this...if you aren't a bodybuilder) in the off-season and they only look like bodybuilders for a few days out of the year. Kai Greene is the only one who LOOKS like a bodybuilder but Jesus, he ruins it with that get up he is wearing. There is off-season...and there is down right not giving a damn. You decide what we are seeing here.

Even with visible obliques and abs it still doesn't mean the "lol looking like poop" factor isn't there. Plain and simple, I believe bodybuilders year round should look like GODS compared to the normal public. No, not contest condition, but a caliber of physique that makes people turn heads in a positive way.

Many people seem to feel the same way, especially if you look back at the first pics posted during the Ronnie Coleman Classic. I think Disgusted was one of them, and many people over at Muscle Mayhem are saying it to.
Yes, a lot can happen in 7 weeks, but with 30+ pounds to lose as you say (probably closer to 40 still) that's nearly 4 pounds per week...which even if he does lose it (without any of it being water) what will he look like come contest time?

I've been to the Pittsburgh NPC show (although it's been a few years), and it's as much of a bloated mess as the guest posers. Mannion has pretty much given up trying to get anyone from the general public to attend the shows - there's almost no publicity, I didn't even see any posters at area gyms. So the strategy seems to be to create as many competition categories as possible, and then make money off the entry fees and tickets sold to friends and relatives of the competitors (who feel obligated to go.) The evening show includes Women's bodybuilding, fitness, figure, and Men's bodybuilding in categories including teen, open, closed, novice, masters over 35, masters over 45, masters over 55, etc. He usually adds in some "entertainment" or "demonstration" segments, such as kid's gymnastics, and of course there are the dozen or so guest posers. The whole extravaganza starts around 6pm and the winner of the men's open category isn't announced until about 11:30 or midnight. If anyone has any question about why Joe Public would never go to a bodybuilding show, this evening of tedious boredom would explain it. Mannion seems to think it's a big deal that he can coerce so many bodybuilding "stars" into appearing at his little show, but the fact is that no one in Pittsburgh really gives a damn.

Manion lines his pockets from the IFBB and NPC so why should he give a shit whether anyone outside of the bodybuilding world watches his long, boring ass show filled with out of shape pros? The Weiders never wanted true mainstream appeal for bodybuilding either. Keep it small and under the radar and get rich with little scrutiny or accountability.

Well yes and no, they still look awesome even if someone doesnt know they carry water. Maybe a few of them take the water retantion a little too far but most still look great. These pics hardly do them justice.
Further more, if they wont have a good off season they will probably come back the next year not that much improved.
Not to mention they want to eat and relax too, I'm sure an Olympic sprinter doesnt run his fastest in ANY occasion he need to walk alittle faster than usuall.
Besides, the general public will probably like them like if they are ripped, most are disgusted by ripped bodybuilders anyway.
