You're not alone. Could never get Liam Neeson as an action star. Specially when he went that road in his mid-50s. Van Damne should be starring in the next David Lynch movie then.

Barney the Dinosaur.

Jack Sparrow is intimidating? lol

Idk how many of those they made but Depp had to be sick of poncing around by the end of it all.
I like his stuff. Transcendence was was great, although just one nod in the direction of Max Headroom would have been nice.

Good pace, no Deppy arthouse pretention (Dead Man, which I liked too), budget for some booms, but still presented plenty of timeless questions and a few modern ones. Definitely worthwhile.
-
Snake was my favorite too back in the day.
Snake was the man. All he cares is to survive and get the job done.
-
There is a GLARING oversight on that list...

I used to see him at The Firehouse restaurant all the time. Looks even scarier in real life. But was always very cool.
-
Manny , without a doubt. Thats if you consider him an action star. Baddest guy ever to be put in a film either way.

Agree with others:
Chuck Norris is literally 1-10
Danny Trejo needs mention as well as the Boz for Stone Cold
Arnie as Matrix in Commando has to be mentioned

Director Neill Blomkamp releases short film Rakka featuring Sigourney Weaver

a lot of action stars try to come off as bad ass off screen, back in the 90s i used to run a catering firm delivering food to movie sets in north hollywood, at one time chuck norris stopped us in the door and told us "use the back door for food delivery" as he was puffing on a cigarr, when i objected he turned around and showed me he was wearing his chuck norris action jeans that wont bind your legs, i realized he was the real deal on and off camera. never used the front door after that.

Jack Sparrow is intimidating? lol

Chuck Norris was the real deal though, many action-stars/actors are not.
Han Solo for example, is not that intimidating compared to like, lets say Prime Bolo or Stone Cold.
