Title: Would you be more inclined to buy a bodybuilding magazine if...
Post by: danielson on November 24, 2007, 03:48:11 PM
They actually put someone you looked up to on the cover? Like Alex23? It would be pretty cool to have people who are actually successful on the covers imo.

I'd be less inclined if that were the case.

I would buy if they actually stopped recycling stupid bullshit and shit that people already know.

The moment they do that and give me everything I could otherwise find here for the price I find it here, then I'm definitely in.

I'd like to knowthe quad routine Jay is using to win the Olympia!!

Surely he changed something up to put another inch on to carry himself to Olympia victory.

Or maybe the shoulder routine it took to hoist up another sandow!

I'd start buying mags again if they were under 150 pages, and less than half ads.

I'd like to know the actual cycles, including anabolics, opiates and stimulants. I'd like for the bullshit to be cut. I'd like to know how Dorian and Ronnie transformed(maybe I know already), but I want the full details.

So we all agree we would rather have someone successful and charismatic like Alex23 on the cover of the mags, right.

He's a big guy and would look great if he shed some weight.

But Nasser on the covers would be the best, let's not kid ourselves.

I'll tell you what, since you are part of team Nasser and I am part of team Alexx23 we can both post one of the pics our leader sent us personally today. Tell me when you are ready.

and less than half ads.

Agreed:  Enough, we get it Muscletech can cure cancer and bring back the dead. Even if the mag was 25 pages of some interesting new shit, its better than the 300 pages of ads.

Hope this helps.

What about Alex with strippers on the cover?

I wonder how much a skanky stripper would pay to be seen on the same cover with Alex23? Not sure she could afford it. Maybe a very in shape actress or supermodel.

All the mags suck. They have the same old atricles in them recycled year after year. The summer issues are all the same. Same for the winter issues.
Summer- "Get ripped in 2 weeks for the Beach"
Winter- "Get fukin' huge in 4 weeks-throw on the sweats and eat!!"
    Bi-weekly "Get big arms now!!"

they do have mags like that.

they're called Men's Fitness, Exersize for Men only, etc etc

and they outsell Flex and MuscleMag by a long shot

...if it was truly a muscle magazine and not another tit rag.   I want to read about bodybuilding - training, nutrition.  I want inspiring photographs.  And stop trying to sell me all that Muscletech shit.  Damn, that's annoying.

Those covers have anonymous fags on them. I was referring to a cover with Alex23.

offcourse, guys like alex are hard workers, if he used some stuff or not hes somebody who can inspire you to train harder in the gym, these juiced up pussies on flex cover doesnt motivate me at all. all unemployed drug prostitutes who are nothing without them.

Exactly. Plus I am going to let you guys in on a little secret. Not all the "pros" are even successful people. Some of them live with their mothers ;D Why would anyone want to buy a cover with them on it when they could have a cover with Alex23 ???

at least half the board members who workout are nothing without drugs, so what's ur point?

they use drugs to accomplish their goal, just as people read self help books or reciple books to learn how to cook better meals. get over the drug issue.

I don't see bodybuilding magazines because to see them I'd have to go near them and thats extremely embarrassing

I remember the one time I bought Flex, what a tool I felt even paying for it.

yes when they focussed more on natural bodybuilding one would think he could archieve the same if he worked hard in the gym and ate right. that would motivate people.
now you look at them. they look awesome and you know its all drugs and genetics.

No, not half the board. Maybe about 4 or 5 "weak minded" people. Alex23 is natural and a role model.

stick to looking at pics from the 50s and 60s then as motivation. ur right, it's mostly drugs and genetics (structure, muscle shape, response to drugs, etc). that doesnt take away from the fact they look great. it's not 'who trained the hardest in the gym olympia' ;)

It's a lot of photoshops as well. Plus I heard that 90% of the pros were homosexual, we shouldn't support that. Alex23 fornicates with a different girl every night and 2 on Sunday, we should support him, not the fags.

No, there are a group of people who talk about steroids on the "bad" board. They are small in number and not much bigger in stature tbh. Troublemaking types, you should stay away from them. 2 of them are cops, that much I know for sure.

Yeah I agree. However, if Alex23 were on the cover of a magazine, we would all buy it, work out more and look better to try and emulate him.

Health first these days Mars. Sure I could be 230 pounds and ripped, but I am trying to stay a little lighter so I can fit into normal clothes.

MD is like $6.99, I can't justify buying any bodybuilding magazine at that price.

$2.99 is doable

I'd be more inclined to buy a bodybuilding magazine if it showed the REAL side of bodybuilding, like pictures and interviews of pros and their gear use, and what fitness sluts raeally do to make their money. I would pay for that shit.
