Eating 6 times per day, or every four hours, provides the body with the materials it needs to build muscle tissue around the clock. You can go back to Vince Gironda with his every four hour muscle protein "feeds," so this isn't new. Eating the same amount once per week, or once per day, just won't be as efficient for building muscle tissue, as the building materials won't be there for muscle building, for the body to use. The body doesn't have a storage pouch for keeping protein around until you need it, except in muscle tissue, and that would be a zero sum game in terms of muscle building. At very best, you would only maintain, rather than build. And, although the body can store body fat, it can't access your body fat for anything other than energy.
