We paid to have Paul at our gym. Guess who was the one who won Mr Canada?

I met Paul in Golds Gym in 1991 and he came to our gym the following year. No safety fat that year.

In the sixties you couldn't win an AAU Mr America title if you were seen in a magazine posing in a pouch.

That was considered gay. The exception was if you were doing modeling for artists or sculptors.

So I guess guys like Larry Scott must have needed the money because he surprised us by appearing in some of those

magazines. No, I never bought any of those but we found out through the muscle magazines. I think one was called

Tomorrow's Man. A well known Dr W told me in Vancouver in 1970 that Joe and Arnold and Franco and heaps of the

top guys were 'friendly' to homos. I honestly didn't know what to believe but he should know because he is gay.

I had to search the net to find these photos. Why, Larry, Why!

Yeah i know, actually Paul wasn't even that bad in early years (before the 1994 ASC), but always had problems spreading his huge back, most of the time at least... In his prime the widest and freakiest bb i have ever seen, shoulders-to-waist ratio simply inhuman...

What's the big deal about these photos? He's not anymore exposed in that "pouch" then many, if not most, bodybuilders today are in the posing suits they wear on the competition stage. Moreover, why is nudity still an issue? Isn't it time folks got over their Victorian puritanical ways?

One difference is that dudes weren’t shaving off their pubes back in the 60’s. So there is a little hair around the edges. Yikes! That’s soooo erotic and gay! Shame on Larry.
