Hey Dr Mike, it sounds like you and ol' Mike Katz run some great shows up in New England.
My first show was the 1978 AAU Mr Eastern seaboard in Greewich , Conn.
I met Mike Katz there and got my 1st ever trophy presented to me by Chris Dickerson, which was quite a thrill .

I judge regional NPC shows here in Ga now where I live and work.
I am trying to stay on my diet and make a comeback myself at the tender age of 49 LOL.
I hope  fair better than the guy who had the attitude issues.

The conduct ,ego and delusional , self absorbed comments still amaze me after all my years in bodybuilding.
Ironic how you see some of the same kid of wacky behavior on shows like American Idol as well.

I see this one guy at many of the area shows, with a huge handelbar moustache and obvious-absurd synthol all over his body . He seems ok and does not exhibit bad sportsmanship, but I have to wonder why he does "that" to his body. It must take considerable effort to inject all the  synthol , so it is no accident or spur of the momment idea on his part.
Plus, he keeps doing it , show after show , year after year. At what point does he finally realize how ridiculous he looks ? Like the "comeback guy" you had to judge, what are these folks thinking???

Actually, I was at that show in Greenwich as a spectator...it was my first ever and I was 15.

I have no idea what they are thinking...only that I surmise that they do bb for the wrong reasons, especially not for self-gratification.

I try to ignore them...there are too many good people otherwise!

We don't care for disgusting, disrespectful commesnt coming out of the mouths of bores who sit next to mothers, fathers, grandparents, and others who try to enjoy the show in piece and not hear profane, pornographic-like talk.

Agree, glad to see someone said something to the douche.  Lots of people dont want the confrontation and an ass bag like this ruins the event for everyone else. I have seen jerkoffs like this at shows. Your a hero.

Disqualifiying the kid would have been the wrong move maybe, but I think he was just using it as a way for this guy to see his point and get him to leave without any real problems starting.  Best to avoid physical confrontations in that setting.

Running a show is usually a thankless job...from promoting, to actually making the show happen, to expediting, to judging....you never make everyone happy.  You and Mike do a terrific job in CT...I'm always glad to be part of that show.

Thanks and yes. They should probably remove that from the rules...but maybe there was a precedent somewhere or at sometime that made it necessary.
