Title: NSX at the Nurburgring
Post by: Lexus II on July 23, 2014, 07:24:25 PM
The next NSX is a hybrid that is reported to have 600 hp total.  This is Honda reliability with Ferrari performance. Here it is at the Nurburgring.   8)

What's the deal with the other vehicles on the track? Is this like one of those public weekends or whatever? ??? Seems like Honda could have had some private access.  ;D

It is a public road I believe. You pay to get on it.

This guy takes the new M4 on a 1000 mile trip, and gets on the Nurburgring and has to pay.
I believe they do shut it down for manufacturer testing and Ring runs.

The Rock am Ring (German: Rock at the Ring) and Rock im Park (German: Rock in the Park) festivals are two simultaneous rock music festivals held annually. While Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring racetrack in Nürburg (Adenau, Rheinland-Pfalz) (50°20′10″N 06°56′48″E), in the west; Rock im Park takes place at the Zeppelinfeld (49°25′44″N 11°07′19″E) in Nuremberg, in the south.

It looks like there's a lot of burnt carbon fiber in this picture.  The specs on this car should be interesting.

Jewish lightning?

Friend worked for a dealer who ordered two ford gt's.  Took one out of the lot, brand new... Did a sweet burn out, donuted over the curb, back onto the lot and smashed it into his other one.

Lmao if this is truthful. I personally witnessed some stooge with ego larger than skill peel out in a viper fly across 3 lanes of traffic ( two were oncoming) pop over the curb and take out a cement light post.

A 1990 acura nsx will still fetch a cool 30k today

in great condition, yea.

recently, I've seen 92-94's for under $20k with normal wear and tear for a 20+ yr old car.

even then, you're gonna spend less than a couple thousand per year on maintenance.

tires = less than $1k/yr, IF that.

oil changes = less than $400/year.

MAYBE headlight motors, window motors, and brakes every couple years.

the NSX and 911's are the best sports cars you can by in terms of value & reliability, IMO.

This is the episode of After/Drive that got me interested in the NSX.  The Classic car club explains why the NXS was better than the Ferrari 355.

When I posted this I was bitching about suspension going, need new top shock mounts. Today I see the cooling system has a leak. Had the car 4 years (it is 10 years old) and never an issue. Spent over €1000 since December, wishing I had just sold it then.

Srs question for the car guys...

Why not get a bike? Generally cheaper, equally if not faster, you get the rush...

Are you talking about a bicycle or a motorcycle?  The NSX should have a top speed of around 200 mph.  Also, a car is way safer than a motorcycle.

Likewise, I am a huge fan of the original NSX. The body styling is great for a car in that price range

Granted that everyone says that is under powered

I would still like to own one

They say it was underpowered but for it's time it was doing mid to low 13's in the quarter and this was early 1990's??

It was a driving machine esp the hard top 1990-1993 versions

Stiff suspension, rack and pinion steering only, until the later models had to be soften cause people complained it was too harsh

Aryton Senna approved!

wasn't really underrated. maybe general public didn't know why it was a good sportscar but enthusiasts knew.

they should have turbocharged it though

Yeah it was during its time it was looked at as overpriced, underpowered and no history like the porsche 911, f355 ferrari, and c5 corvette, even the supra...

It was until time passed and the prices dropping guys were picking it up used and realizing how great, unadulterated the car really was

I wish it had a NA V8 high revving instead

I agree that the original model was over priced and under powered.  This new model will probably be over $100K.  I'm expecting 600-700 lb ft of torque, which would give better acceleration than Ferrari and Lamborghini.  I'm interested in seeing how this hybrid power train works and how well the all wheel drive puts that power to the road.
