Little to none, I cruise on diet and genetics. Though I'm sure biking and power walks count as a cardio activity.

I don't compete (though have plans to look at doing physique) but along with eating as well as possible, I do cardio 3-4 times a week. Twice on the treadmill, then the rest playing sports. Doesn't dice me up lean but keeps the fat off.

When I`m training for a contest,I do 4-5 days of walking on an inclined treadmill for 30 minutes,on Saturday-60 minutes.


Occasionally I`ll mix in the Eliptical trainer just to avoid the boredom.

Like 2 times a week wish I had more time- on stairmaster or incline tread
But the majority of the day I spend lugging huge buckets of ice and cinder blocks refrigerators vending machines

I try to do 30-40 minutes a day, two 15-20 minute sessions prior to weights, as a warmup.  Very easy, these days.  Jumping rope or a few sprints.

I also walk for an hour or so many days.

This is for general health -- not a competitor.

i start every workout with 20-30 minutes of cardio...then another 30-60 minutes at work

I do a mile a day, 5 days a week.

Sometimes I'll walk it.  Sometimes jog or run it.   If I'm in a hurry, I run it.  If I'm relaxing, I'll take it easy.   I hate the clock, I get way too lazy knowing "29 minutes left..."

I've noticed a huge difference.  Haven't changed diet yet, but I feel great, never tire at anything outside of the gym, and appetite has gone up a lot for clean foods. 

IMHO, lots of water & lots of walking forgive a lot of bad habits.

Used to be burning calories... now it's just about getting warmed up.  I can't jump right into the weights.  I need to get my heart pumping and skin sweating or else I don't feel ready.  Cardio is like an appetizer for the main course.

Also, running can improve my mood in a way that weights can't.  That said, I tend to abuse running, trying to chase the "high", so I'm staying away from long steady state sessions for now.

Walking also helps with mood.  I go crazy sitting at a desk for hours on end.  Unfortunately, that's the nature of my work.

What works for myself:

AM Cardio: Fasted, LISS 20 minutes, going up to 40 w/ bcaa's closer to comp
Post Workout: 20 - 30 minutes, MISS

*I cannot HIIT and recover/get lean, unless I perform it on an "off day" (still kinda counterproductive, IMO)

To you guys that can go longer than 20 for cardio at the gym, how do you do it mentally? I start getting super bored, to the point of just clock watching and hoping off at then 20min. Id like to be able to hit 45 on the treasmill or stepper but i lose patience

Watching my wife train for a half, I would suggest to spend a lot of time training in the pool.

Some will say that I am too skinny, but in my effort to cut as much as possible, I do 40-50 minutes for 5 times a week morning cardio at the treadmill with empty stomach.

Also I do extreme diet, eating carbs all day long.

im leaning out righ tnow usually two sessions per day,    i must admit it is hard so i do it first thing 5 am in the morning

and then i run in the afternoon.   im a cardio beast
