Shhhhhh...!  Keep that part quiet.  The geniuses that the far right consists of (*snicker*) will probably think their little boycott worked.

Would hate to point out that they are really wasting their time by beating a dead horse.

The only ones who dont seem to know it is Obama, his supporters and the filthy UAW!!

FYI - the thread topic here clearly defines "far right" and "boycott".

So let's hope their little boycott is successful.

That is why this is never going to work.  American cars will never have the same image as German autos and need to go for value and price to the middle class and working guy.

All they will do is cheapen up the vehicles a little more to cover it.

This is a big reason why US autos suck these days... they have to make them paper-thin cheap to mitigate the loss they take from the union costs.

I wonder how many have been unnecessarily injured and killed due to cheap materials.... just so some union fvck could get an extra few bucks.

Unfortuanatly you are correct, the cars will get more cheaply made, and cost the same or more. My brother-in-law works for the city around here and he had his ford taurus taken away and was given a Prius. Talk about a piece of crap, conditions in which you can drive the car and feel safe  - 80 degrees, wind under 10 mph. Rain, snow, wind forget it he leaves it at home and drives his Dakota.

This is far, far different than what happened to Chrysler in the 80's, you can't compare the two.

Chrysler in the 1980's recieved loan guarantee's from the government. In that the govt. backed the loans that the banks would give Chrysler. Iaccoca had to submit a viable and honest business plan, which he did, and thus the loans were given for a around 7 Billion dollars. Chrysler ended up succeeding, turning a profit and paying the loans back several years early. The govt. took NO stake in Chrysler and had no involvement with how the business was run, it simply gave the loan guarantee's. That's it. Chrysler never went bankrupt.

GM has recieved around 50 billion dollars (more to come) and will never pay the money back. The govt. actually took a 60% stake in the company and will no be directly involved. Obama actually ousted Rick Wagner, the govt. will now have the final word concerning were GM's new HQ is located and most likely will meddle in affairs and what to build.

The two situations are not comparable.

Thank you. Great imformative post. I figured Chrysler had only gotten a loan from the government but as you point out it wasnt even that. The government only guaranteed the loan. By the way, Hugh Hewitt is one of the more tempered Conservative talk show hosts. He doesnt just predictably bash Democrats all the time like Hannity or Rush.  He has a record of giving democrats credit when he thinks they deserve it. So this isnt just a mindless right wing boycott that he has proposed. GM is now a socialist company and it is everybody's duty not to buy a socialist car.

So, 42% OF GM OWNERS are RW nuts?

1 - Where in this thread title states anything in regards to 42%?
2 - Where in my reply(ies) have I mentioned anything regarding 42%?
3 - Where in the original cut and paste from post #1 is anything mentioned towards 42%?
4 - Since when does someone have to be a current owner of a product to boycott it?

Unless you have an answer for the above, then you have only chased your tail in a circle once again... and accomplished NOTHING but irrelevant posts in this thread in regards to the thread topic and issue stated.

Are you trying to desperately make a point of some kind (and failing) or just showcasing your ADHD (and succeeding)?  Which is it?

Poor quality, high prices and lack of interest will trump silly far right boycotts any day of the week.

If GM tanks, I will 100% gurantee it won't be because of anything those nitwits do.
