how is phil better than chris?

I don't see flaws in cormier, other than maybe smallish calves

i look at phil and see oversized arms, thin chest, narrow shoulders, funky abs

presentation?  why does he force those goofy faces while posing?  seems unprofessional to me

he deserves to be mr. o today but i think he is very flawed compared to the 90's

He meets all of the criteria better than his contemporaries and that's how they judge contests everything not at the expense of one thing .

Chris had a strong advantage in structure and balance & proportion , I always called him the black Bob Paris , but when he was competing he didn't have the muscular bulk , the density & dryness and the stage presence to go along with it , and that's how judges view things

Cormier still ended up winning alot of the smaller shows (if not most of them) during the most competitive era of BB. His only 'knock' was that he had no 'freaky' parts ... relatively speaking of course.. . like him or not Heath this year and the last two Mr. Os looks ridiculous ... esp. with the conditioning, freakish arms...better than 99 Cormier ...iono it could go either way.

Yep, Ronnie wasn't structurally great. You saw at the 98 O flex killed him in the front relaxed. Chris had the clean lines to keep upping the bodyweight. Phil is all drugs even more so than everyone else in a sport where everyone is all drugs. No real weaknesses from a judging point of view, i would much rather look like Chris though. He could have any look and pull it off with his structure.
