To get *bigger he will need to spend more time lifting weights, and less time working on his technique.
So you're saying that will no mess up his technique?

It might affect his technique slightly, however I believe the net result will be beneficial.
I'll explain why: Mir already has an advantage over most of the fighters in his division (save Nog), since he is a large fighter that it highly proficient in BJJ.
So he needs to focus on his weakness, and that is guys like Brock that will use their strength to power out of his holds. Mir can afford to lose a bit of skill, because he is so far ahead of everyone else (again, save Nog) in that respect. Someone like Lesnar (and every other wrestler for that matter) will be completely befuddled by someone like Mir, with the added size to bote! His combo of size and excellent BJJ will make him totally unique and unbeatable. As it stands now, he will be outmuscled by Brock and his ilk otherwise.
Also, there's just no guarantee that his skill set will diminish. He might just train even harder than before--finding time to do both.
