It is a way to learn languages while translating them. It looks promising but they're basically putting millions of people to work for them for free. That's why the guy on stage is going out of his way to villainize traditional pay language learning methods by saying that they discriminate against the poor. He's deflecting the fact that his company either is or will potentially profit from millions of unpaid workers. According to his logic, any company that charges money for anything discriminates against the poor.

I think that the idea of making something that people do anyway for free become beneficial for all is basically good. It is not good that he feels he has to verbally tear down the companies he is in "competition" with in order to deflect what he himself is doing.
