Don't have the footage but I remember when lex lugar had big show in torture rack.

walked him out to the center of the ring in it and somebody came out of nowhere and took out his leg. LMAO.

nothing like the last minute bail out guy sprinting from the locker room

More than a few surprises on that list (if accurate).
Bill Watts – 500 lb. max?

I’ve talked to some non-wrestling folks who’ve seen different wrestlers train over the years.
Davey Boy & Anvil were always said to have been genuine powerhouses.
Warlord, too, but I’ve never heard “exact” numbers for him.

Superstar billy graham's bench was NO bullshit. He trained with Arnold and worked his way up to 6 plates aside.

Nice pic of Arnie and Superstar. Note how big superstar is....wrestlers are not small being 6'2" - up. He is dwarfing Arnold in that pic just with sheer mass.

Actually the Road Warriors had better lifts than what is listed.

Animal 605 max bench

Hawk 565 max bench

I wouldn't say he's 'dwarfing' Arnold. He's just slightly taller. Arnold has bigger thighs and calves.

By the way, why did Arnold walk around barefoot in a hardcore gym? I'd be worried some idiot would accidently drop a weight on my foot.

Looks like he’s in position for a side spot.
Probably someone else at the other end of the bar who didn’t make it into the shot.

I don’t seen it often, but this method of spotting is quite common on presses (bench/squats) involving more than 5 plates.
Wouldn't want to be the poor bastard responsible for doing a 500 lb. upright row when Graham gets pinned under the bar. :)

That's a hell of a monster bench press on Grahams part. Side spotters are common on extremely heavy lifts.

Some of those are completely made up.

I have personally witnessed :

Sullivan pushing 455 for 5
Larry Zybsko 405 for several sets of 10
Rick Steiner 275 for around 15 non lock out reps (this was after he clearly came off the juice and was very smaller towards the end of WCW)
Bobby Eaton - yes, THAT Bobby Eaton - 405 for 4
Sid Vicious 365 for 4 - talk about a disappointment
Arn Anderson - 315 for reps about 10-12.  he usually would come in and pick 2 exercises and just do 10-15 sets for each while he was waiting on Flair to get off the stairmaster
Willy Mayes - old school WCW jobber and personal friend of mine - 545 for 6
Glacier - at Powerhouse gym in Alpharetta - 275 for 2.  (Pathetic)
Robbie Rage - 495 for reps (had to be over 10 easily)  but he usually just did incline flyes with 110 lb dumbells
Paul Roma - 315 and bombed out on the 3rd rep
hercules hernandez - no BP but did dumbell presses with the 150s for close to 20 reps.  several sets and never broke a sweat.  (this was about 1PM in the afternoon and bell time for the night was 7PM, he said he had to eat, shit and sleep before the match)
Billy Kidman would work up to 335 for 4-6
Raven would use 315 for 8 reps but he trained inthe slow-mo style.  Took about 10 seconds for each rep to be go all the way down to his chest.  Probably could have added another 200lbs to the bar easily if he did his reps in the explosive fashion.

Saw Goldberg workout several time, but never bench pressing.
Same thing for Virgil/Vince/Shane/Mike Jones/whatever he is now.
Barry Windham was so weak he probably couldn't do 10 pushups.

Zybysko used to train with Bruno Sammartino, who was also ridiculously strong.
They were both built similarly – albeit Larry was a shade smaller.
Both had big, powerful chests, and Larry’s discussed some of those training sessions they had together in Pittsburgh.

Tony Atlas press slamming Abdullah

Stan Hansen hitting a lariet on Thunderbolt Patterson so hard that TP actually turned a back flip.  This was back in late 70's before flipping backwards on impact was chic.
