I guess it’s a given that Bill Kazmaier and Ted Arcidi were crazy strong, given their respective backgrounds.
Some other guys who possessed rather impressive strength were Ivan Putski, Dino Bravo, and Crush Adams, who allegedly crushed several state power lifting records in the day.

As I mentioned in aother thread, one of my old gym buddies saw Warlord bench pressing once.
I can't remember the poundage, but my friend was astonished at the weight and ease with which Warlord handled it.
Even more impressive to me was that my buddy was a 270lb. juicer and no slouch himself on the bench.

Another guy who was supposedly very strong was Nikolai Volkoff.
Occasionally, someone from that time will mention their experiences training with/around the other boys: Iron Sheik was said to be a real slacker in the gym, but Volkoff was performed some strong lifts.

Also, my cousins in Baltimore live close to Nikolai and subsequently run into him on occasion at the grocery store, etc.
They said he is an EXTREMELY NICE man.

Goldberg was a god damn powerhouse in the shoulder department.

Giant was obviously pretty strong and coordinated for his size too, I remember when Buff Bagwell (who was 245) jumped on his back from behind off the top rope, Giant didnt even budge and threw Bagwell off like a damn toddler lol.

I remember Scott Steiner throwing Chase Tatem onto his shoulder like a 130lb teenager impressed the hell outta me, guy had some crazy core power for being smaller than the biggest guys. He also T Boned suplexed Giant around 96 i think without any help from Giant at all, and pulled it off flawlessly.

Scott Hall was actually pretty strong guy for being a tall lanky guy too

I remember the Bagwell incident, i thik it was when the NWO surrounded Show. He did fall over if i recall because Bagwell jumped straight at him instead of onto him, but he stood up and launched him off. Ill see if its online....

There it is!

Giant must have been strong. He was in such good shape back then too, now hes just so lethargic looking.

Observations so far:

Big show - throwing Kane down like a rag doll... WOW holding a 320lb man like an infant with almost one hand is scary strong...

Golberg - biggest surprise! I guess because of his football background, really good at static holds (military presses, etc.) very impressive when he spiked Big Show and multi-pressed Lesnar

One guy not really mentioned much but prove by his crazy bench pressing, Warlord .. 575 for 6 ?!!? the guy was insanely strong, read lots of stories of him and Barbarian

Warlord was 320lbs of massiveness. Met him in person once. The guy is insanely huge and would easily dwarf most IFBB pro's.

That guy was larger than life, and just too big for doorways. Lots of pro wrestlers make bodybuilders look small just with their stature alone..

I know I mentioned this here before but I saw Sid Vicious at a peeler joint after a show here in Toronto back in '97 and he litterally took up two urinals when pissing. He was that wide. He litterally had to duck underneath the doorway to get into the bathroom. Just unreal.

Sid was somewhere in the 6'8" range correct? Seemed huge on camera, at least a head taller than everyone around him. Another guy as big as a house.

His greatest impression on me from a physical point of view was the cover of WM8. Ridiculously big, especially in the traps

Sid is shorter than Nash, who stands 6'10", id say hes 6'8" on the button. Have you seen Gunnar Eudy?! Same size as his old man at 16 / 17 years of age (minus the hulking muscles) and is now developing into a half decent indy wrestler since he filled out his frame.

Nash is 7'1"

He played basketball for a number of years before getting into wrestling.

Heights, weights, and measurements are oftentimes (ridiculously) misrepresented/exaggerated in wrestling.

I remember when Foley took a bump off the WCW ring ramp back in his Cactus Jack days.
The announcers said he fell something like 10 feet.
He said it was funny because in the next shot, viewers saw the referees & paramedics standing at ground level in front of the ramp - and they were almost as tall as the ramp was high.

Mick made a comment to the effect, "I guess WCW employed 9-ft. tall referees."

I call BULLSHIT.

I can see it, totally. One time back in the very early '90s Warlord stopped in at my then-gym (all WWF/E wrestlers used this Powerhouse Gym when they came through Toronto) and did a quick couple sets of squats with 315 for HIGH reps and then went over to the bench and, after a couple quick warm-ups, did six paused reps with 455. Let me tell you, this was one of the easiest sets I have ever seen done with poundage such as this. No spot and each repetition was FAST. Dude was traveling and likely burnt ... plus a strange gym, etc.

He also did some inclines with 365 like it was the friggin' bar.

Warlord was MASSIVE. Also extremely polite and helpful (even spotted me on some flat dumbell presses).
