And there is no need.

Just create a new 00 character for Elba.

You're actually insulting the guy by trying to shoehorn him in as James Bond.

He is more than capable of bringing a new character to life.

We've seen other 00 agents in Bond movies.

Just make him 003 or 005... or any other number.

Bond fans would love it. It would be like getting two Bond-like movies for every one.

I never understand the threat of the tiny baddie, they are always at the mercy of a pissed off bodyguard, they have no physical presence and zero fear factor, they only threat you have from them is that they can convince others to do their dirty work.

They only need to get to one of his trusted bodyguards and pay him enough to strangle him..

The first film I ever saw in the theater was a Bond film. The year was 1973 and the film was Live and Let Die. I have since seen every Bond film--even the earlier ones--multiple times. I consider myself a fan. Skyfall is probably the best film to date; they will have a hard time topping it. Elba would have been a great Bond; it's too bad they were not able to work out his casting.
