He wasnt really a good boxer but just mean as hell and fast determination was his best asset.

Duran vs. Ken Buchanan was a great fight, they really slugged it out.

Haha, everytime i hear that, I think about Jay-Z's line in Missy Elliott's "One Minute Man", HD references Roberto Duran.

Prime duran vs. prime pacquiao at lightweight would have be one hell of a brawl.

Man I used to get tickets to the biggest fights in Vegas.  I always doing something else.  Went to the Hearns Leonard 2nd fight.  Great tickets ($1200 each) on the first row rise (best seats).  Had a great party for Sugar in the Fantasy Suite at Caesars.  Back then boxing was so huge and fun.  5th row at the Tyson Bruno fight.  Man, you could hear and feel when Tyson hit him

One of my favourite boxing moments is in that fight. I forget which round, but Hearns hits Hagler in the grid with a massive right hand and Hagler just kind of shrugs his shoulders and keeps on coming forward with blood pouring down his face. No backward step, the man was just fucking nails.

Shane Mosley was a better LW than Duran.

Pacquiao beats any weltweight from the 80's.

It was a golden age back then.  Hagler, Leonard, Hearns and Duran fighting during the same period.  Four boxing legends.

all of these guys, sugar, duran, hearns, touched or were near 147-154 which would have put them on course for the links of FMW.  as good as a defensive fighter he is for his generation...it wouldnt hold up against these guys' offenses esp hearns who FMW would avoid cause he would say he is too big ala paul willaims.  i think if FMW would run for 12 he could out-point duran.  but wtf could he do with a prime sugar ray, excellent finisher, pint-point puncher, excellent chin ( check mega shots he took against hearns and duran and stayed on his feet  :o) ) and better hand speed.

it's like the 2 bros in the HW division right now.  they got real lucky in a generation of weak HWs where the AA talent is trying to get football and basketball contacts vs boxing careers

all love to carlos quintana who went out like a warrior vs berto.  hang em up bro, take care of the family, have nothing more to prove.
