Good build but he went to the wrong fucking school. I am hoping that his cousin/brother both make the right choice and come to the Right school and his cousin has more potential then Vernon has.

Looks great, but he was a total bust.  I'm sure the Jets are wishing they never drafted him.  Jerod Meyo, the kid NE took, was the defensive rookie of the year, but this dude would kill him in a bb pageant!

How can you be a total bust after just one season? I notice you managed to make a retarded comment AND stick in an e-blow job of yet another Patriot.  ::)

yeah, definitely far from natural.  Regardless of his weak season this year, he was a wrecking ball at OSU.

Rips this guy down with ONE ARM while holding off an offensive lineman with the other arm

Mario Williams sucked hard his first year and now he's arguably one of the 10 best d linemen in the NFL.  ::)

I'm not even a Jets fan, but to write a guy off after one season is a little dumb. Two or three? Sure, then he's a bust.

They would lose 3 to 4 games a year without a doubt. They can't even make it through the Big 10 without getting knocked off once or twice. The SEC speed would run circles around their vaunted defense.

Playing the line is far less complicated than playing lb in the 3-4.  Maybe Rex Ryan can get something more out of him.  If anyone can it's him.  Rex is going to make the Jets legit.....I feared he would go there.

At the NFL level it's all dedication and smarts.  All the guys are good athletes.  Some of em just get lazy or dont put in the work.  Vernon has all the tools.....clearly he does not work hard enough.

The combine stats are measured officially, big jackass. It's not uncommon for an NFL defensive end to bench 225 for 30+ reps, so a 455 bench is very believable.

As for being clean, there's no way in hell he's clean.

darell revis was also a rookie who had vets in front of him and he's started every game since he was drafted and is recognized as one of the best corners in the league.

Umm darell isn't one of the best corners in the league, not even in his division. Epic homer. And, there's a reason gholston didn't start ONE GAME. and it's not because he was a bust.

yea...ty warren, vince wilfork and seymour plug a lot of gaps. Mayo will be 10x better when they play 16 games.

And no one is saying he wasn't good enough to be a starter. The reason he got roty is because there were so many injuries, and thus he got more pt. dipshit

Revis is WIDELY recognized as one of the best corners in the league.

Please tell me why Gholston couldn't crack the starting lineup. Seriously, because normally if a guy is good, and better than the other guys at his position...he plays. Simple as that.

can you name a jets pro bowl conerback in the last 10 years? go ahead, ill wait. That's why revis was a starter from day 1. He had a breakout season this year and you wanna call say he's recognized as one of the top corners in the league. No surprise, your a homer.

I said it earlier, the jets had vet's who knew the system. No one will know for sure why gholston wasn't a starter from day 1. WHY DID JAMARCUS RUSSEL THE #1 PICK SIT THE WHOLE DAMN SEASON LAST YEAR? Because they had a guy who knew the system and no one was rushing to get that investment on to the field so fast.

nice rebuttal dipshit ::)
why do you get so worked up over a game? Mayo started all 16 games, he would have played regardless of injuries.

they had vets who knew the system. You're acting like he started 8 games and he sucked so they sat him. No. It's been like this since the beginning of the season. If the pats didn't have a billion injuries mayo wouldn't

A. be a starter
B. win r.o.t.y

I watched Gholston played at least 4 of the 8 times they decided to let him fuck up everything.....he looked like a fucking retards on the field.  There is a reason you start a top ten pick only 8 times.....he clearly stinks or does not get the system.  The Jets gave the kid many chances starting in the preseason and he never got it....thats why he sat.  Shit, most Jets fans will tell you Gholston was a waste his first year.

Just to let you know - Mayo would have been a starter this year because the guy in front of him Teddy Bru, sucks at this point.  The pats didn't have a ton of injuries to the lb core, they had one (AD).  The pats had two proven lb's that have been in their system for years that could have started in front of Meyo, they didn't because Meyo is better.  Most of the injuries the pats had were in the secondary and on the line.  Lastly, Meyo was voted DROTY so clearly he is a hell of a player.  You don't just become DFROTY for fun.  You = sour grapes because mr muscles cant get out of his own way.

Imo, Meyo is a better athlete to.  Gholston is way to stiff and he is not fluid.....he was so bad in coverage it was scary.  In college he could use his size and strength to make plays, but in the pros, against complex defenses, and guys who are just as fast and as strong as you....it's a different world.  Maybe Gholston gets it this year, but I don't think he will be much more than a starter for his career.  He wont be a star.  Guys like that never are.

I pled football at the NCAA level.  It was a small school and I was not even close to going pro, but I did watch Gholston play this season and barring a radical change, I don't think he will ever be more than a decent - average starter in the NFL.  I could be wrong.

I was a fan of Gholston coming out of OSU.  Check the sports board.  I am basing what I said on watching him play.  Just because a guy is jacked and looks great does not mean he is a good athlete.  Infact, to much muscle can hurt you as a lb.

Ok.  Arguing with you is pointless anyway.  I played at a small school in college and I watched Gholston all year.  You didn't even watch him play and I'm pretty sure you never played football in college.  Whatever though, it's not even worth bickering about.

Again, my school was not a major football program and I was not even close to being as good as the pro's.

Sure I do.  But, I will let you call me a fake and a fraud.  Getting into the pictures thing is not my style.  I will base my comments not on my football experience, I will base them on watching Gholston play this year and my best friend and college roomates (who is from NYC) opinion.  Gholston is going to be a bust, imo.
