Then the article says "The suspect was described as a male in his 20s, wearing a white shirt, dark shorts and white shoes." Not a very specific description with some key details missing.

When you see a news story about a "random attack" and a generic "male in his 20s" description you can be sure that the attacker dindu nuffin!

Several Black Lives Matter protesters in Utah could face up to life in prison if they’re convicted for splashing red paint and smashing windows at the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office during demonstrations against racial injustice, The Associated Press reported Thursday.

Prosecutors announced this week that the felony criminal mischief charges, which carry a gang enhancement, are justified because protesters allegedly teamed up to cause thousands of dollars in damage.

I know a good number of respectable, law-abiding black folk.  Some of them are dear friends, and I love them.

Still, they are tired of the racial division; they'd prefer to put all of that to rest, a'la Morgan Freeman.  As one of my co-workers, a woman of black, Cherokee and white heritage said, "The more we talk about race, the more power we give to people who want to us set apart and put into neat little boxes."

At least 21 people shot, one fatally, at a party in Southeast Washington

A 17-year-old is dead and an off-duty police officer is fighting for her life after at least 21 people were shot when a dispute broke out early Sunday at a cookout attended by hundreds of people in Southeast Washington, authorities said.

D.C. police said at least three shooters opened fire from different locations at the gathering in the city’s Greenway neighborhood around 12:30 a.m.

The dead teenager was identified as Christopher Brown. An unidentified off-duty police officer who apparently was at the party was critically injured, D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham said.

The mass shooting occurred in the 3300 block of Dubois Place SE, and police said the crime scene extended for several blocks as victims scattered. Newsham blames the availability of illegal firearms and says people caught using them are not deterred by the criminal justice system. He also has said criminal suspects freed from jail because of the coronavirus pandemic are contributing to the violence.

In the Dubois Place incident, a police spokesman said multiple gunmen opened fire with semiautomatic weapons on the gathering in the block, which is in a residential neighborhood off Minnesota Avenue SE, south of East Capitol Street.

A flier advertised the fifth annual “34th-n-EAT” cookout beginning Saturday night, with the end time left open. The flier promised a “drama free event.”
