NY Pro use to be one of the best when Wayne ran it now it's a 3rd tier show Bob if you weren't MC you should have competed it looks like a Chick show.

Times have changed...it's got nothing to do with whose running it, the athletes could care less.

It's so sucky BB.com won't even webcast it.  Bob, as athlete's rep you should propose reducing the Olympia qualification spots at the NY Pro from 5 to 3, since it clearly is not the show it once was.  Hell, with 5 spots and this weak-ass lineup, we could end up with Kenny Jones in the Olympia.  ::)

What has happened to the value of the dollar in the years since Wayne left?

Wanna try that "same as it was" line again?

Unless payouts are going up by the rate of inflation each year, they are in fact going down.

About the same.  In your world does that mean "being the same".  Is it more or less than when Wayne had it.  And if it is not more then why on earth not.  The cost of living has gone up for the competitors.  Why as the athletes rep have you not done anything to increase the prize money for the shows like this one.  Why?

In fairness, shows aren't where the money is.  You can't get blood from a stone.

There should be a union set up like SAG where there are contractual minimums for things like supplement contracts, publishing contracts, photoshoots, guest posings, etc.  Won't ever happen though.

Bingo....for once we agree on something.

NY Pro lineup is weaker than other shows. Some competitors are competing in the falls shows, others already competed in the early shows. It gives some competitors a great chance of placing in the top five, and becoming qualified for the 2008 Mr. Olympia. Never the less, we are looking forward to seeing Kai Greene battle it out against Ben White, Ronnie Rockel, David Henry, and Charles Dixon, amonth others.

Dude, regarding money and progress, use another thread. Just the Mr. Olympia alone went from $460 to over $725K. Ironman went from 20 to 30K. Many of the top 20-30 competitors have supplement and other contracts, and so on.  15 years ago, very few had. At the 1997 Olympia, i think there were only 15-20 booths, and many competitors didnt even think of getting a supplement contract then. Some had magazine contracts, but that was it. So things of course have changed.

Have fun at the NY Pro!

CHic if you add up all the people who came to all the meetings you set up there are less than the number of guys Goodrum has blown in the past two years.  You can't really call meetings where 1 person comes a meeting can you.  Maybe a lunch date but not a meeting

I will state one small exception to that, though...  IFBB sanction fees.  That's free money for Manion, and realistically some could be negotiated into the prize pool, since the IFBB has fuck-all in actual expenses.  Again, won't ever happen.

 ::)   EPIC battle!

Kai might actually have to diet for two days and hit a pose or two to win.  ::)

I was dead serious when I said Chick could come out of retirement and take second without breaking a sweat.   Hell, your boy Kamali could even get an O qualification in this lineup.

Talking about Pro League Meetings, where proposals are submitted and voted on... not AR meetings

The NY pro is a train ride away from me.  I am not going to waste my money on that lineup.

It is too bad because I enjoy going to the shows.  This time it isn't worth the money, especially if  the pittsburgh guest posers show up....

Bob, ask those Promoters to do an effort to make the NY Pro expo look like a real Pro Bodybuilding Expo. Frankly, for the past couple of years, the NY Pro expo STUNK, and there isn't any change anytime soon. Now, I really miss the night of champions
