Title: fighting is a sport
Post by: benchthis on March 29, 2009, 01:13:52 AM
we can all agree fighting is a sport... doesnt matter if it sanctioned or not...
can a natural athletic person such a list of the people from the following list
http://espn.go.com/sportscentury/athletes.html

be trained and groomed to be fighters or is fighting a different kind of sport?

and im not saying take them, train them to fight and see what happens..
Im saying if they had never discovered there original sport and had taken up fighting would had they been great?

for example if Micheal Jordan would have taken up boxing instead of basketball as a child would he have been heavyweight champion of the world?

im bored :) enlighted me getbig

any good athlete,if trained by the right mma instructors can be successful if they are willing to put in the work and time to do it.being a good athlete gives a person a big advantage to excel in mma compared to a guy thats not athletic at all.being a good mma fighter involves good technique ofcoarse, but also speed, agility and balance are all things good athletes possess that are very important in a mma fight

how much discipline and mind is involved in fighting compared to being a great sprinter, basketball player, even gymnast ?
