Soundgarden recording NEW material in fall 2012

Soundgarden have announced the title of their forthcoming album "King Animal", which is pegged for a release this fall.

It's their first full-length release since "Down On The Upside" in 1996. A tear video previewing a new song "Worse Dreams" can be seen below.

Soundgarden reformed in 2010 after more than a decade apart, having split in 1997 due to ongoing tension between members. Their first post-reunion release was the exclusive song "Live To Rise" for "The Avengers" soundtrack this year.

Meanwhile, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan recently claimed that Soundgarden and other reforming acts had only reformed to make money — shortly after his own reformed band had released a new album "Oceania".
"When Soundgarden came back and they just played their old songs, great," said Corgan. "I was a fan of Soundgarden, but call it for what it is. They’re just out there to have one more round at the till; same with Pavement and these other bands."
