Arnold started a brick laying business with Franco, invested in a mail order company, bought a gym in Munich and was investing in real estate. One of the first things he did when he came to California was take Business classes along with English. All of this well before he making big bucks in the movies. He was already a millionaire well before 1982 when he starred in Conan the Barbarian, when the majority of people never heard of him.

i heard the brick laying business was a scam just made up by weider for the mags to enhance the character known as arnold. pic in mag of franco and him working was said to be a spur of the moment photo-op.
