Come on now, he is legitimately strong but those are 100% fake plates. Look how his arms are bending.

The pic is from Ironman magazine from 1993 I know magazines started using fake plates after Fux got crushed under the bar squatting , but that bar is bending , looks real to me.

You have got to be kidding me. Haven't you seen the real pics where he is doing 700 something in Gold's? He is using no chalk, the bar is pre-bent, he is POSING with the weight. So obvious. Looks like a Neveux shoot and he has always used fake weights.

Mike is extremely strong but that shot is bogus. On a positive note, I think that's Titus' old squeeze, Debbie Halo on the right watching... I think.

Fake.

Look at the angle on the weights compared to the bar.

Anyone got the legit pics of O'Hearn deadlifting in Gold's? He has a deadlift suit on, chalk etc.

Hah, everyone oiled up with fixed expressions on their faces, no chalk, no nothing - this garbage screams of being contrived and set up. Don't be so ignorant ND; are you tellin me every single training shot where absurd amounts of weight are bein used are since fux got injured are the only ones to use fake weights. Come on?

The last two plates on the bar are legit.  So, it's 225lbs.  Actually, probably about 230lbs to account for the aluminum weights.

*hint* When you see bright shiny new silver plates on a bar. loaded to the end, and magically, one plate is dark, scraped, dinged, and chipped.......that's the real plate.

With that many posts, it seems you'd be a little more locked on to what is fake and what is not...Mike's a good guy, but that picture is totally FAKE!!!!

Whoever mentioned the angle of the plates compared to the bent bar was totally right. They aren't dipping at the same angle as the bar. Mike O'Hearn couldn't cut it as superman, got turned down for the role, so we KNOW he can't lift this....only the man of steel could lift this...

No offense to ND but a lot of posts doesn't mean you know your shit  ::)

Anyone can tell that's not real. You squint your eyes like a chinaman and your face goes all messed up when you lift a heavy ass weight. The angle of the plates are all wrong, his arms are bent and there's no tension in his quads. The last two plates on either side are probably real.

To top that off, the chick on his left would not be sitting that close and that relaxed if they were real weights.
