JJ said in Flex Magazine in the 90's his legs "took off" early on in his bodybuilding career when he started squatting 3 times a week. I experimented with 3x/week squats back in the 90's, and I dreaded going to the gym. But sure enough, my thighs did grow larger. Not for the weak, that's for sure.
