Fedor Vs Jeff Monson

  Does anyone still care about him? I do. No matter how many times he loses, I will always like the guy and his warrior mentality. Jeff Monson is a third tier fighter and this fight doesen't matter, but Fedor did win it. And wow, Vladimir Putin was in the audience.

still the greatest IMO. i think fedor played it very safe. he didn't jump on him when ever he knocked monson down..he also utilized the kick alot. fedor did look better but he's not the animal he once was

I might have jinks Fedor. I have seen him fight 3 times in person- he lost each time. Sorry about that.

Def played it safe and his standup looked a little diff-prob less upright due to defending a takedown-meanwhile Monson is juiced up and to small for a HW-he is an ADCC champ and his TDs suck in MMA against tough fighters-I like both fighters btw

Instead of going for the kill, Fedor went the GSP route in that fight.

He knew he could light Monson up all night long with his superior striking and reach, so he peppered Monson to a decision. Fedor knew not to jump into Jeff's guard after he went for the kill and got submitted that way against Werdum.

Safe and boring, but SMART coming off of consecutive losses.

The fight felt like an exhibition. No knock on Monson, but it just wasn't competitive at all.

It's to bad we never got to see a prime Fedor in the ufc. He should of tried dropping to 205.

I know I'm no MMA expert like other people on this forum but you do have to remember that Fedor's record was HEAVILY padded by wins in RINGS.

RINGS was known to promote several "works" and furthermore RINGS was never full MMA

the man goes 10 years without losing, then he loses 3 in a row, the fact that they were in a row mean he entered a phase where he wasn't fighting at his best. I don't get all these people saying he fought cans, how many title holders has he fought, lots, even from the ufc, how many number one contenders has he fought, ya then you say they are past there prime, same could be said about anyone really,

Monson was also a number one contender for the ufc heavyweight title
