my wife took some for awhile (lexasil i think its called)
i dont think they really did anything and they cost a fortune
in my opinion anxiety just means you uncertain of yourself and weak minded individual

How long did you take them for and why did you quit?
Do you feel they had any benefit and help you get back to normal or a waste of money?
I had a cousin get suicidal on Lexapro, but she was pretty nuts her entire life.

thats what the drug company want you to believe..
i half agree with you....the majority of people on these meds shouldn't be on them....but their are a good chunk including myself that need to take them.......i have anxiety attacks unprovoked....i have had them since i was a little kid...sometimes i will just be driving and it happens...

bah....my grandfather stormed the beach of Normandy & didn't have as much anxiety as these slack jawed Fa##ots runnin around lookin for a pill to make it all better.....he put in a big wad of chew took a swig of some homemade shine and grabbed life by the balls....thats back when men were men before they became pussyfied

lexapro was the only one i have ever taken that actually works. the problem i have with lexapro is i stop caring about everything, and just want to have fun and party....i had a ex-girlfriend who took lexapro and went suicidal....she was to big of a damn loser to be successful though....
i had to stop taking them for about a year..no problems coming off..except a vitamin b deficiency...no withdraws or anything...but my attacks came back...

I used to take the anti anxiety meds but hated the "hollow" feeling they gave you. I took my last one about 4 or 5 years ago. Too addictive and to bleh.

i am in charge of my life..these meds have nothing to do with being sad or depressed....i can be walking, driving, sleeping it doesnt matter...i will break into a sweat, and feel like i am having a heart attack and can not breath......all un provoked......there are no triggers.. if have have never experienced this..you dont know what you are talking about..

And that is having severe anxiety, when they happen for no reason, Thats how i was. I wrote a post a while back about panic/anxiety attacks, meds......cant find it though. SOMEONE WHO HAS ANXIETY/PANIC ATTACKS LETS SAY 2-3 TIMES "A YEAR", DO NOT BELONG ON MEDS, THOSE ARE THE WEAK-MINDED PUSSYS'. JUST LIKE BENCHMASTER SAID, THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ON MEDS THAT SHOULD NOT BE. PEOPLE WHO HAVE/DEAL WITH ANXIETY/PANIC DISORDER ETC........EVERY SINGLE DAY, THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT NEED MEDICATION. "BIG L DAWG"......IN 3.....2......1.....

me and her were friends for 2 years before we started dating.....i found out she was crazy the last few weeks of our relationship..oh what fun...when her and her husbands divorce was finalized 2 weeks after i ended our relationship..i had to testify in court of her "crazy" actions..so the father could get custody of her son...my EX's dad asked me to do that so the kid could have a normal life..

seriously though, anxiety ain't fun. Its a manifestation of depression, and an anxiety attack is pretty terrifying. I found that once I started taking full advantage of my potential, and quit fucking around with unimportant things, it went away. Start researching Maslow's and Rogers' different ideas on self actualizing and how to attain self actualization, also, try reading "man's search for meaning" by viktor frankl, that book will really open your eyes as to the power we have over our thought process.

Still get wicked depressed at times and usually always have a feeling of impending doom.

Drugs work for some people. But it is not the long term answer.
Lexapro is a great drug. You just need to decrease you way off it.

Anxiety is actually a good thing, its your self telling you your inner house is breaking off, like red flags. Its always telling you what you need to do, you just have to be very still and listen to it. But you will need to quiet your inner mind chatter to be able to hear it. Its very much a zen thing. Its more what you need not to do than something you have to do. Eliminate all the things from your life that are untrue and corrupt. Thats the best enlightment that you will get. Lets look at the word ''enlightment''. Think of it not as light but as weight. We carry loads of emotional filth on our backs. Like we re a bloddy packmuel for someone or something. Suffering is your guidance.

:-X I was on Paxil for 3 years, 60mg..........Worked great for my anxiety/panic disorder, depression, etc..........BUT the side effects were horrible, dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, tiredness.

i was on paxil for about 3 or so months a few years ago. Useless drug, but the side effects were awesome. It made cumming feel 6 times better. Some people use it just for that. :-\

St John's Wort is supposedly a natural anti-anxiety remedy but it never really did anything for me.
