Hello there,
Believe it or not I studied in Taiwan about 10 years ago. I met you and worked out at your gym near Shida with my friend Greg. You were huge back then and still are now

I am personally to advise any beginner who want put on size :
##Always favour freeweights over machines

So, essentially you are training the whole body twice in seven days... How does this impact your recovery particularly as a natural bbe'er?

To Mr.Ben :
Basically Sushi is made of rice (carbs) ,It's a good bodybuilding food .
Here in Taiwan , one small dish of Sushi is around 1 US$ when you eat in restaurant.

Great motivational idea having this thread!

I've heard many people say natural bodybuilders peak quite late in their  careers, what do you think?
It hasn't helped...

It's sound make sense ,I think I have improved a little bit since I retire from goverment's job.
Because I can train more hard ,more consistent....etc.

But my muscles are not so full, skin not so tone ,...as my young-age days.

That's why I always say bodybuilding is a "Appearance" game ! not just  "performance" only

How many sets per bodypart do you recommend?

How much rest between sets do you suggest when training for a competition?

Hi,AV

1, 20-30 sets for big muscle groups like chest, back or shoulders.....
for legs I adop higher reps (no more low-rep heavy weight)  , because of prevent me to injure low-back again.
Basically I do 8 sets of full-squats (60kgs X 35reps,80kgs X 25 reps ,100kgs X 10-12 reps ......) .

Small muscle groups like bis & tris around 20 sets too.

2, I never time my rest between sets ,even in off-season .
Because of your muscles never remenber how long you rest ,it just react how high-Intensity you blaze !!

And High-Intensity with higher reps ;such as doing squats will fasten your metabolism to burn fats!!

When you are getting old ,training more smart !

Hey guys ,Rockkkkkk your muscle !!!

When I started my iron game , Steve Reeves and John Grimek are my heros!! Both of them are true legend !!

Among the current Pro bodybuilders,The Mind Milos Sarcev is my idol ! Especially  I appreciate his training principle !!

I am still to compete every 2 year in bodybuilding event of Taiwan Game (last time I placed 2nd among young      guys) , and I do guest-posing almost every year in Japan too.

Anyway I hope to find a really drug-free international natural contest .

Coach Huang.. Define your version of high intensity?

Is it.. giant sets, minimal rest between sets, extended sets (forced/assisted reps)?

Hi,guys
My english not so perfect, but I try to describe the version of high intensity which I apply as following :
The concept of this training principle is to hit your muscles as hard as you can in a short period of time.
And your rest time in-between sets is as minimal as you can . (I never time my rest between sets)

Ultimately you must to take every set to failure and past !
The basic principles is to stimulate your muscles for growth using workloads 80%-100% of your 1RM !Sometime you must to go over this whatever using partials, negative ,descending set ,or giant set ……etc.

I always tell my gym’s members : Train hard or go home !!

Yes,You are right !
I always try to train with high-intensity in a short peroid of time when I was young.
But due to my age and injure, now actually I train with higher reps and sets!(try no rest between sets)

Sometime I try the high-intensity which I mention before once a month only.
I am afraid of I will injure again ,if I use the traditional high-intensity principle .
