I've been hearing a lot a talk about this election being a "landslide victory" for the democrats. Although it might be the case for the congressional elections, I really think people are inflating Obama's victory. The electoral college exaggerates margins of victory. He only had 53% of the popular vote. So far, he seems to be very humble in acknowledging this. It just pissed me off when Bush acted like he had a mandate in 2004 and even 2000. Almost half of America didn't support Obama. It's naive to think the Republican party is finished (although it wouldn't bother me if they were).
